The London Nocturne (formerly the Smithfield Nocturne) was a cycling race in London, United Kingdom, organised as a criterium around a 1.2-kilometre (0.75-mile) long course in the City of London. It was first run in 2007 for men and in 2009 for women, and took place as part of a celebration of cycling during the afternoon and evening, such as those involving penny farthings and folding bicycles. Despite not being on the UCI Europe Tour, the race nonetheless attracted some high-profile names, such as Ed Clancy, Mark Cavendish, Matthew Goss, Davide Appollonio, Magnus Bäckstedt, and Sarah Storey.

A nocturne is a musical composition inspired by, or evocative of, night.
Dean "Deano" Downing is an English retired bicycle racer, specialising in road cycling who last rode for NFTO Pro Cycling. Downing was educated at Wales High School and Sheffield Hallam University, where he graduated in 1998 with a degree in Construction Management. He rode for the DFL-Cyclingnews-Litespeed team in 2006 and is the older brother of former British champion Russell Downing. In 2004, he represented Great Britain at the World Track Championships.
Edward Franklin Clancy is a British former professional track and road bicycle racer, who competed between 2004 and 2021.
James McCallum is a Scottish former racing cyclist who last rode for the NFTO Pro Cycling squad. He represented Scotland in the Team Pursuit, Points & Scratch Races at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, and again in 2006 in Melbourne in the Scratch, Points & Road Races, winning a bronze medal in the Scratch race.

Ian Wilkinson is a British racing cyclist from England, who currently rides for British amateur team Spartans Velo Club. A prolific rider, he competes at the top level in cross country and marathon mountain bike racing, cyclo-cross, circuit and road racing. He is a multiple national champion, winning championships as a junior, under 23 and senior rider. He has represented Great Britain at many international events such as World Championships and World Cups in several disciplines. Outside of cycling, Wilkinson's occupation is as a builder.
The Shropshire Star Newport Nocturne is Britain's first flood lit road bicycle race and is biennially held in Newport, Shropshire. The race was first run in 1970 at a distance of 109 miles (175 km). The race was first run as a night race under flood lights in 1989 and returned in 1990 and 1991 in this format. The economic recession of the early 1990s forced the event to be cancelled in 1992.

He previously competed on the track; he won the silver medal in the Men's points race at the 2014 UCI Track Cycling World Championships in Cali, Colombia, and the gold medal in the same event at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, United Kingdom.

Nicola Ann Juniper is a British racing cyclist, directeur sportif and former team owner. She rode in the women's road race at the 2019 UCI Road World Championships in Yorkshire, England. In 2015, Juniper won the British National Circuit Race Championships in Barnsley.
Rebecca Raybould is a British former road and track cyclist. As part of Team Breeze, Raybould won the British National Team Pursuit Championships at the 2018 British National Track Championships and the 2019 British National Track Championships. She also represented England at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in the time trial and pursuit events and was World Junior champion in the scratch race in 2016.
