In January 2001, [1] Mamun Chowdhury and Rob Huson set up London Tradition. The company operates from a factory [2] and design studio [3] [4] in Hackney Wick near the Olympic park, [2] designing and manufacturing luxury duffle coats [5] for export. [2] [1]

Export

The company now exports 30,000 to 35,000 coats a year, [2] 90% of its output is outside of the UK, [3] [4] it exports to 12 markets, including the Asia Pacific region, Europe, [5] Japan, Germany, Italy, [3] [4] France, Austria, Netherlands and Spain. [1] It has seen overseas sales rise by 865% between 2007 and 2013. [2]

Awards and recognition

London Tradition was twice awarded a Queen's Awards for Enterprise for International Trade in recognition of its business performance: once in July 2014 and again in April 2020. [6] [7] [8] The citation of the 2014 award noted he company's success in having "taken British outerwear - including the humble duffle coat - and transformed them into a luxury heritage brand for an international market." Chowdhury is a title of honour, usually hereditary, originating from the Indian subcontinent. It is an adaption from Sanskrit. During the Mughal rule, it was a title awarded to eminent people, while during British rule, the term was associated with zamindars and social leaders. The common female equivalent was Chowdhurani. Many landlords under the Permanent Settlement carried this surname. Land reforms after the partition of India abolished the permanent settlement. In modern times, the term is a common South Asian surname for both males and females.

<i>Mukhosh</i> (2022 film) 2022 Bangladeshi mystery thriller film

Mukhosh is a 2022 Bangladeshi mystery thriller film directed by Efthakhar Suvo. With the grant from Government of Bangladesh, Efthakhar Suvo produced the film under the banner of Bachelor Dot Com Production, and Cop Creation serverd as the distributor. It is based on his unpublished novel Page Number 44. The film stars Mosharraf Karim, Pori Moni, Ziaul Roshan, Iresh Zaker, Pran Roy, Faruque Ahmed, Rashed Mamun Apu,, Azad Abul Kalam, Tarek Sapan, Elina Shammi and Alongkar Chowdhury. It was released on 4 March 2022.
