Lonely Astronaut Records is a record label founded by musician Joseph Arthur, his long-time professional partner Lauren Pattenaude, and Eric Gerber. The label was created in 2006. Thus far, the label has only its founder Joseph Arthur on the roster, which also includes releases produced with his band The Lonely Astronauts.

Our Shadows Will Remain is the fourth studio album by Joseph Arthur. The album was released in the US on September 28, 2004, on 12" vinyl and October 12, 2004, on CD, then in the UK on July 11, 2005, on CD and double 12" vinyl. The recording sessions also spawned the companion EP, And the Thieves Are Gone. There were four singles released when the album was picked up for UK distribution by 14th Floor Records. An extensive nationwide tour of the US followed the album's release, including dates with Joan Wasser. In 2005, Arthur went on a brief tour throughout Europe with R.E.M.

A music video was produced for "Slide Away," featuring Joseph and his band The Lonely Astronauts.

Let's Just Be is the sixth studio album by Joseph Arthur, and his first with his backing band The Lonely Astronauts. The album was released on April 17, 2007 in the US, and on September 3, 2007 in the UK. According to Arthur: "the philosophy of the whole record was sort of a letting go, that's why I called it Let's Just Be, because it was like everything about that record [came from] a Zen-like approach. Just letting things be how they are."

"Chemical" is the first single from Joseph Arthur's second studio album Come to Where I'm From. The single was released in the UK and Australia on June 26, 2000 via Real World Records and Virgin Records. The single is long out of print and is now hard to find. Joseph very rarely played "Chemical" live—the first known version was in New York City in March 1998. A music video was produced for the song, directed by Anton Corbijn. The video features Joseph as two characters: the first as himself, playing his guitar and singing the song, and the other as a man clad in black with a fake moustache and temporary tattoos. Joseph's friend Valdet builds a sculpture behind Joseph through the video.

Temporary People is the seventh studio album by American singer-songwriter Joseph Arthur, released on September 30, 2008, on Lonely Astronaut Records. Co-produced by both Arthur and Kenny Siegal – who had previously worked with Arthur on Nuclear Daydream (2006) – the album was recorded with backing band The Lonely Astronauts, and features guest musician Garth Hudson on organ and piano.

"When I make records, I tend to err on the side of them being too long," Arthur tells Billboard.com. "EPs keep me in a confined space. They're like poems. Plus, the EP is like the stepchild of a record -- people root for them. It's time to play with the form and the way things are done." Could We Survive, which begins with the anti-war track "Rages of Babylon," has a mix of "bigger production songs and some more lo-fi ones. I like putting those kinds of things together. On a sonic level, it's much more dynamic."

Crazy Rain is an EP from singer-songwriter/multi-instrumentalist Joseph Arthur. The 8-song EP was released in the US on April 15, 2008. Crazy Rain is the second in a series of four EPs released in anticipation for the release of Joseph's seventh studio album Temporary People on September 30. From Billboard.com:

For Crazy Rain, Arthur is "working with a lot of drum machines" but doesn't classify the material as techno per se. "It's just more on the edgier, drum machine-side of what I do," he says. "..."I'm using old drum machines and doing home recording-style stuff. It's the most fun to do what you haven't done in awhile [sic]."

<i>The Graduation Ceremony</i> 2011 studio album by Joseph Arthur

The Graduation Ceremony is the eighth studio album by American singer-songwriter Joseph Arthur, released on May 23, 2011 on Lonely Astronaut Records. Following two studio albums with backing band, The Lonely Astronauts, The Graduation Ceremony is Arthur's first solo album since Nuclear Daydream (2006), and was initially intended to be a joint release with session drummer Jim Keltner. Prior to the album's release, Arthur noted, "early signs are quite good that people might like it. One can only hope. You do your thing put it out and move on. Artists and sharks are the same." Regarding the album's stripped-back aesthetic, Arthur stated, "I wanted to make something simple."

Greg Wieczorek is a New York City based drummer, percussionist, vocalist and songwriter. Born in Baltimore Maryland, Greg has recorded and performed internationally with: Norah Jones, Joseph Arthur, The Lonely Astronauts, The Autumn Defense,, The Twilight Singers, and many others. He recently finished a world tour with Norah Jones in support of her latest release, “Day Breaks”.
