Lonnie Szoke (born February 9, 1978) is a Canadian musician, songwriter and record producer, born and raised in Brantford, Ontario.

Career

Szoke co-founded ILLFIRE Entertainment in 2003.

In 2004, he produced on Keshia Chanté's self-titled Juno Award-winning album. [1] The single "Let The Music Take You" was nominated for R&B Song of the Year by the Urban Music Association of Canada. The album was certified gold in Canada in January 2005. [2]

In 2006, he produced "Take Myself Away", the first single from reggae musician Sizzla's album Overstanding. [3]

Szoke appeared on Degrassi Unscripted for his work with Drake, [4] [ failed verification ] an actor/rapper from the Degrassi television series.

Other artists he has worked with include Beyoncé, Lil Wayne, Ne-Yo, Stargate, Keyshia Cole, 50 Cent, Simone Denny, Glenn Lewis, In Essence, Ray Robinson, Michie Mee, Ghetto Concept, Choclair, Toya Alexis, Belinda Brady, J-Logix, Mayhem Morearty, Hustlemann, Yonge C, Celtic Connection, Intonation, and Lina Fouro.

Keshia Chanté is a self-titled debut studio album by Canadian singer Keshia Chanté, released by BMG Music Canada on June 22, 2004, and was certified gold. The album received positive reviews from critics and industry insiders, winning numerous awards, including a Juno Award for R&B/Soul Recording of the Year, making Chanté the youngest winner. The album garnered numerous awards and accolades.

"Un garçon pas comme les autres" is a song written and produced by Michel Berger and Luc Plamondon for the 1978 musical, Starmania. It was originally performed by Fabienne Thibeault and released on the Starmania album in 1978. The English-language version of the song with lyrics by Tim Rice, titled "Ziggy", was recorded by Canadian singer Celine Dion and released on the Tycoon album in 1992. Dion also recorded earlier a French-language version of the song for her tenth studio album, Dion chante Plamondon (1991). Sony Urban/Epic Records released both "Summer Love" and "Been Gone" in the U.S. The video for the first single "Been Gone" was directed by Director X. Her second "2U" was shot in Miami in 2006.
