Louise Carver (born 10 January 1979[ citation needed ]) is a South African folk rock singer-songwriter and pianist.
Carver was born in Cape Town, and holds dual citizenship in South Africa and the United Kingdom. She began playing piano at the age of 11, and received her first recording contract at the age of 15. She matriculated at the Rustenburg School for Girls, matriculating in 1996. She earned an honours degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics from the University of Cape Town in 2002. [2]
Carver released her first single, It Don't Matter (1996) [2] when she was 17. The single topped the South African National Campus Charts. It spent 11 weeks on the South African National Top 40 Charts, where it peaked at the number three position.[ citation needed ] At age 18 she followed the single with her debut album, Mirrors and Windows (1998). [2]
First for Women, a South African insurance company, sponsored Carver's 2008 Home Tour. [3]
Two of her singles with house DJ Joe Bermudez - "Sunrise" (2016) and "Crazy Enough" (2018) - reached number one on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart.
Channel24 gave a favorable review of Carver in 2009. [9] In June 2010, the City Press said that Carver's Look to the Edge album "has an edgy electronic/pop sound with infusions of South African rhythms and percussion, [and] will appeal to South African and global audiences alike... This 12-track album is unique and diverse. It’s easy listening and has something for everyone." [10]

Kim Carnes is an American singer and songwriter born and raised in Los Angeles. She began her career as a songwriter in the 1960s, writing for other artists while performing in local clubs and working as a session background singer with the famed Water Sisters. After she signed her first publishing deal with Jimmy Bowen, she released her debut album Rest on Me in 1971. Carnes' self-titled second album primarily contained self-penned songs, including her first charting single "You're a Part of Me", which reached No. 35 on the Billboard Adult Contemporary chart in 1975. In the following year, Carnes released Sailin', which featured "Love Comes from Unexpected Places". The song won the American Song Festival and the award for Best Composition at the Tokyo Song Festival in 1976.

American singer-songwriter Nichole Nordeman has released five studio albums, one live album, four compilation albums, one extended play, one soundtrack album, eighteen singles, and three music videos. In 1998, after winning a contest sponsored by the Gospel Music Association, Nordeman was signed to Star Song Communications and Sparrow Records and began to work on her debut studio album, Wide Eyed. The album was released in September 1998 and entered the Billboard Christian Albums and Billboard Heatseekers Albums charts at number 16 and 29, respectively, both of which marked her chart debut. Wide Eyed spawned four singles, "To Know You," "Who You Are," "I Wish the Same", and "Wide Eyed", and has sold 130,000 copies in the United States. In May 2000, Nordeman released her second studio album, This Mystery, which charted on the Billboard Christian Albums chart at 12.
