Louze, also spelt Loas, is a small village located near the district headquarters of Astore in Astore District of Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. It has apple orchards, and a hydroelectric power station that supplies power to most parts of Astore. The valley is used to grow a wide variety of apples, cherries, almonds, nuts and grapes.
The Gilgit Agency was an agency within the British Indian Empire. It encompassed the subsidiary states of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir situated along the northern border. The primary objective of establishing the Gilgit Agency was to bolster and fortify these regions, particularly in the context of concerns about Russian encroachment in the area. The subsidiary states encompassed Hunza, Nagar and other states in the present day districts of Gupis-Yasin, Ghizer, Darel, Tangir and Diamer. The agency headquarters was based in the town of Gilgit, within the Gilgit tehsil of Jammu and Kashmir.

Its area is approximately 414.72 km2 (160.12 sq mi) and its altitude is from 1,212 m (3,976 ft) to 6,060 m (19,880 ft).

As of 2013, the region has been greatly affected by the loss of forest cover, low average rainfall and low vegetation, due in part to widespread illegal logging practices in the valley.

The Shingo River is a tributary of the Indus River, and flows through Gilgit-Baltistan and Kargil regions. The river originates in Gilgit-Batistan and flows into the Kargil district where it joins the Dras River. The combined river receives the waters of the Suru River and flows into Baltistan again, joining the Indus River river near Marol.

Choungrah is a village in Astore District of Gilgit-Baltistan region in northern Pakistan. The village contains three sub-villages: Bari Dar, Majini Dar and Thokay dar and is bounded to the east by Khachik and Harcho, to the north by Astore Bazar, to the west by Eid Ghah and to the south by Nanga Purbat. There are four union councils in Choungrah village, two are in Bari Dar and one each in Majini Dar and Thokay Dar. The Choungrah valley is the route to reach Rama Lake. The people of Choungrah are called Choungroch.
Douan, also known as Doyan, is a village in Astore District of Gilgit–Baltistan, Pakistan. It is located in Astore Valley, at the base of the Himalayas. Doyan is a hill station with a small natural lake at a nearby mountain's top. The road to the village famously has 24 uphill turns. Doyan is named after Dooday Family of Tangir District(citation)required as this pasture was bestowed to them by Maharaja of Kashmir. Doyan was bordering estate of Dogra state of Kashmir with Diamer. Doyan served as base camp for liberation fighters against Dogra state as Molana Abdul Manan led them to Zojila pass with help of local Numberdar Haji Abdul Rahim who provided them logistic support.

He was also a member of the Gilgit Baltistan Assembly from 25 November 2020 until his disqualification.
