Garrett Robin Hamler, better known professionally as Sean Garrett, is an American R&B singer, songwriter and record producer. Garrett is responsible for a series of chart-topping compositions, most notably Usher's "Yeah!" which ranks second on the Billboard Hot 100 Songs of the Decade for 2000–2009, and other songs written by him which include Ciara's breakout track "Goodies", Teairra Marí's debut single "Make Her Feel Good", Mario's single "Break Up", Nicki Minaj's first single "Massive Attack", Pussycat Dolls's hit single "Buttons" and Britney Spears' "Toy Soldier".
Stephen Ellis Garrett, known professionally as Static Major, was an American singer, songwriter, and record producer from Louisville, Kentucky. He was a member of the R&B trio Playa. Static Major gained posthumous fame for writing and appearing on Lil Wayne's 2008 album Tha Carter III on the song "Lollipop". He was a songwriter for several artists, including Aaliyah, Ginuwine, Pretty Ricky, and Destiny's Child.

In 2008, she returned to the music scene with the Pleasure P-assisted single "Hunt 4 U". Garrett has been nominated for two Academy Awards for Best Original Song, and won the Grammy Award for Best Song Written for Visual Media at the 50th Grammy Awards for co-writing "Love You I Do" for the 2006 musical film, Dreamgirls.

It is a rewritten version of Berry's "Sweet Little Sixteen" set to new lyrics penned by Wilson and an uncredited Mike Love. "Massive Attack" is the commercial debut single by Trinidadian-American rapper and singer Nicki Minaj, featuring Sean Garrett and was released on April 13, 2010. The song was produced by Garrett and Alex da Kid, who wrote the song together with Minaj. It was initially intended to be the lead single from Minaj's debut studio album, Pink Friday, but the song was dropped from the album due to the single's underwhelming commercial performance. The song was a distinct change in Minaj's previous work on mixtapes and features and received mixed to positive reviews from critics, commending lyrical content and distinctiveness, and criticizing that it did not fit her "Barbie" persona well. An accompanying music video which features a helicopter chase, and militaristic jungle and desert scenes, was positively received.

It was written by Sean Garrett, Justin Henderson and Christopher Whitacre, with production helmed by Henderson and Whitacre under their production moniker Tha Bizness. "Wildest Dreams" is a mid-tempo R&B ballad which was inspired by R&B music from the 1990s and has lyrics which speak about the disbelief for finding love again. It was inspired by Norwood finding love with music executive Ryan Press. Garrett, who wrote nine songs for Two Eleven, noticed the Norwood and Press's connection and adapted the lyrics for "Wildest Dreams".

Allen, and Alvin Garrett for his tenth studio album Doubleback: Evolution of R&B (2013), while production was overseen by Allen. Marcy Thomas, also known as Lyrica Garrett is an American singer and actress. She started off her career as an Ikette in the Ike & Tina Turner Revue in the 1970s. She also sang with The Undisputed Truth, Rick James, and Johnny "Guitar" Watson. As an actress, she toured with The Wiz production and was later featured on the VH1 reality show Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood with her daughter Lyrica Anderson.
