Lucia Basson (born 20 March 1953 in Karasburg, ǁKaras Region) is a Namibian politician who has been the governor of the ǁKaras Region of Namibia from April 2015 [1] to April 2020. [2] A member of SWAPO, Basson was a member of the National Assembly of Namibia from being chosen for the SWAPO electoral list by President Sam Nujoma in 2005 until 2010, when she narrowly missed re-election. She is a SWAPO leader from the Hardap Region. [3]

The constituency office is situated in Aroab. It had a populations of 7,219 in 2011, up from 6,399 in 2001. As of 2020 the constituency had 6,398 registered voters.

Ida Maria Magdalena Hoffmann is a Namibian politician. She served as a member of the 6th National Assembly from 2015 to 2020. Prior to that, from 2005 to 2010 she was selected by president Hifikepunye Pohamba as a non-voting member of the 4th National Assembly of Namibia. Hoffman was active in SWAPO in the 1980s. She founded the Children's World Creche in Katutura in 1984 and has been involved in the Roman Catholic Church since 1962. In 1990, Hoffman studied project development at the Pan African Institute for Development in Zambia. She has also served as chairperson of the Nama Genocide Technical Committee in Windhoek.

Lucia Witbooi is a Namibian politician and Deputy Minister of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety, and Security. A member of SWAPO, Witbooi was elected to the Namibia's National Assembly in the 2009 general election. Prior to entering the National Assembly, Witbooi was a teacher in Gibeon, Hardap Region. She studied at Suiderlig High School in Keetmanshoop and worked in the administration of the Namaland bantustan.

Otto Ipinge is a Namibian politician. A member of SWAPO, Ipinge is the former mayor of Otjiwarongo. As mayor, Ipinge focused on attracting investment to the city, effective management and efficiency as well as increasing tourism, agriculture and mineral management. As of June 2009, he was the electoral coordinator for SWAPO in his native Otjozondjupa Region. Prior to the 2009 general election, Ipinge was placed on SWAPO's electoral list at number 61. However, SWAPO only received enough votes for 54 seats and Ipinge was not elected to the National Assembly. Ipinge was subsequently elected as the regional councillor for Otjiwarongo Constituency in the 2010 regional elections. In April 2015, Ipinge was appointed governor of the Otjozondjupa Region. He served in this position until 2020.

Dawid Boois is a Namibian politician and educator. A member of SWAPO, Boois was the Governor of the southern ǁKaras Region and a member of the National Assembly from 2000 to 2005. In the 2010 regional elections, Boois won the Berseba Constituency with 1,225 votes. He remained Berseba councillor also after the 2015 regional elections which he won with 1,774 votes. As an educator, Boois was a teacher at the Ecumenical Community Secondary School in Berseba.
