Lucie Robert is a Canadian-American violinist, composer, and college professor.
Robert was born in Montreal. [1] When Robert was five years old, she taught her older sister how to play the violin. Robert was the youngest musician at the Conservatoire de Montréal when she was 11 or 12 years old. She attended Indiana University Bloomington when she was 18 years old to study with the well known violinist Josef Gingold at the Jacobs School of Music. During the last three years of her nine year stay in Bloomington, she was Gingold's assistant. At 26 years old, Robert became a teacher at the Manhattan School of Music where she has taught at for over 20 years. Robert has also held a teaching position at Mannes School of Music. [2] She has played the violin for National Public Radio, the CBC Radio, Radio Canada, and Radio France. [3]

He currently performs on a violin made by Nicolò Bergonzi.

She has devoted a large part of her career to making classical music accessible to a wide audience and also frequently played works by contemporary composers. In October 2024, she announced that due to nerve damage in her right hand, she was no longer able to play the violin.

She has studied with Gordana Matijević-Nedeljković, Eduard Schmieder, and Wen Qian. She appeared at the KotorArt Festival in her solo recital in 2019. In 2020, she performed with musicians from Santa Barbara for the Santa Barbara-Kotor Sister Cities program, between Kotor and Santa Barbara. Recently, one of the projects she has been a part of, Broadcast from Home, has been featured by the BBC Radio, Washington Post, and Guggenheim Museum in New York. Nastasja is currently performing with the Philadelphia String Quartet as their Lead Violinist, who she has been with since 2017.

Yaëla Hertz Berkson was an Israeli-Canadian teacher and violinist, who was concertmaster of the McGill Chamber Orchestra from 1959 to 2000, and performed with her brother Talmon and pianist Dale Bartlett in the Hertz Trio. She toured the globe throughout her career, recorded the works of various composers, and taught master classes in chamber music and violin all round the world. Hertz also performed in recital as a soloist on radio and television, and guided and mentored violinists in KlezKanada.
