The Ludwigshafen (Rhein) Mitte (German : middle) station is in the southern part of the centre of the city of Ludwigshafen am Rhein in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. It was established in 2003 and is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 4 station.
It is located next to the public transport hub of Berliner Platz and has good connections to all parts of the city of Mannheim and to the surrounding area.
The geographical position of Ludwigshafen Hauptbahnhof (central station) on the outskirts of the city made it necessary to build a new station in a central location at the so-called South Pole of the inner city. The station was opened on 14 December 2003 in the wake of the commissioning of the Rhine-Neckar S-Bahn. The elaborate design of the station was very well accepted by passengers from the beginning. This accelerated the Hauptbahnhof's loss of significance, so that some Regional-Express trains now stop in Ludwigshafen-Mitte, but not at the Hauptbahnhof.
The station has a side platform (platform track 1) and a central platform (tracks 2 and 3). The platforms for most of their length are covered by a glass roof and the building is full of light. In 2004, the station received the Renault Traffic Design Award, an architecture prize. A fourth track runs through the station on its southern side without access to a platform. This track is primarily used for freight trains passing through the station.
Originally the station was only intended for handling local transport, in particular the S-Bahn, with main line traffic expected to run between Mannheim Hauptbahnhof and Ludwigshafen Hauptbahnhof without stopping. Subsequently, however, plans were changed and the length of the platform was extended, so that Intercity-Express trains could stop at the station.
Just east of the station the line runs over the Konrad Adenauer Bridge to cross the Rhine. This means that the station is somewhat elevated. There is access from the eastern side of the station from the walkway between Berliner Platz and the Walzmühle shopping centre by stairs, escalators and lifts. There is access on the west side of the station via steps at the overpass over Mundenheimer Straße.

Ludwigshafen, officially Ludwigshafen am Rhein, is a city in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate, on the river Rhine, opposite Mannheim. With Mannheim, Heidelberg, and the surrounding region, it forms the Rhine Neckar Area.
Köln Hauptbahnhof is the central railway station of Cologne, Germany. The station is an important local, national and international transport hub, with many ICE, Eurostar and Intercity trains calling there, as well as regional Regional-Express, RegionalBahn and local S-Bahn trains. EuroNight and Nightjet night services also call at the station. It has frequent connections to Frankfurt by way of the Cologne–Frankfurt high-speed rail line, which starts in southern Cologne. Mannheim–Frankfurt railway is a German standard gauge, electrified railway line and runs in southern Hesse and northern Baden-Württemberg between Frankfurt and Mannheim. It is also called the Riedbahn. The line runs through an area called the Hessische Ried, hence the name. The term Riedbahn was originally used for the Darmstadt–Worms railway and the two lines share the central section between Groß-Gerau and Biblis.

Homburg (Saar) Hauptbahnhof is a railway station in the town of Homburg in the German state of Saarland. It is a through station with four platforms and seven platform tracks and is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a station of category 3. It is located at the junction of the Homburg–Neunkirchen line and the Mannheim–Saarbrücken line. It has been the western terminus of line S1 of the Rhine-Neckar S-Bahn since 2006.
Neustadt (Weinstr) Hauptbahnhof – called Neustadt a/d. Haardt until 1935 and from 1945 until 1950 – is the central station of in the city of Neustadt in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. In addition to the Hauptbahnhof, Rhine-Neckar S-Bahn services stop at Neustadt (Weinstr) Böbig halt (Haltepunkt). Mußbach station and Neustadt (Weinstr) halt, opened on 19 November 2013, are also located in Neustadt.
Ludwigshafen (Rhein) Hauptbahnhof is a railway station at Ludwigshafen am Rhein in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. A combination of a wedge-shaped station and a two-level interchange, the station is at the junction on the lines from Mainz and Neustadt an der Weinstrasse to Mannheim. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 2 station. The Ludwigshafen station was built in 1847 as a terminal station in the centre of modern Ludwigshafen. The current station was built in 1969 to the west of the city centre, but has not proved to be a success due to its poor location
The Schifferstadt–Wörth railway or Speyer line is a uniformly double track and electrified main line in the German state of Rhineland-Palatinate. Between Schifferstadt and Germersheim it is part of the network of the Rhine-Neckar S-Bahn. Between Germersheim and Wörth am Rhein it is part of the network of the Stadtbahn Karlsruhe.
Weinheim (Bergstraße) Hauptbahnhof is a station in the town of Weinheim in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. It is served by Intercity services on the Main-Neckar Railway between Frankfurt and Heidelberg/Mannheim. The Weschnitz Valley Railway (Weschnitztalbahn) to Furth in the Odenwald starts at Weinheim station. There is also a freight railway to Viernheim, the last remaining section of the former Weinheim–Worms railway.

Neu-Edingen/Mannheim-Friedrichsfeld station is a separation station in the Mannheim district of Friedrichsfeld on the border with the municipality of Edingen-Neckarhausen in the German state of Baden-Württemberg. All rail tracks are in Mannheim, only the station building is located on the territory of the Edingen-Neckarhausen hamlet of Neu-Enghien. It is classified by Deutsche Bahn as a category 4 station. It has been served by the Rhine-Neckar S-Bahn since December 2018.
