Luise Faurschou is a Copenhagen-based Danish curator, art advisor, cultural entrepreneur, thought leader and former art gallerist. [1] [2]

She is the Founding Director of ART 2030 (founded in 2016), [3] a non-profit organization uniting art with the United Nations 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals [4] , as well as the art advisory agency Faurschou Art Resources (founded in 2013).

Luise Faurschou is frequently interviewed on sustainable behaviour in the art world [5] [6] [7] and in 2022 she was invited to speak on the role of art at the High-level Thematic Debate: Moment for Nature by the President of the United Nations General Assembly. [8] [9]

ART 2030 facilitates art projects connected to the UN Global Goals - including critically acclaimed public events, art experiences, and educational activities. [10] [11]

ART 2030 also presents The Hope Forum bringing representatives from United Nations and UNESCO together with leaders from science and art at the Venice Art Biennale to accelerate system-wide concrete action for sustainability. The 2024 iteration included opening remarks from H.E. Mr. António Guterres, UN Secretary-General (pre-recorded), and Dr. Prof. Johan Rockström. [12]

In 2024 ART 2030 launched Future Ours - an art project about the future of our planet, where artists from around the world were invited to respond to the UN Summit of the Future and reimagine how we can safeguard our common planet, presented inside the United Nations Headquarters and citywide in New York. Future Ours was made in collaboration with Kunsthal Charlottenborg and JCDecaux and included Hans Ulrich Obrist as co-curator. [13] [14] [15] [16]

In 2021 ART 2030 worked with Superflex on the project 'Interspecies Assembly', debuting in New York at the 76th UN General Assembly. [17] [18] [19] In 2019 ART 2030 worked with artist Jeppe Hein on the project 'Breathe With Me', a public art action on display at UN Headquarters and in Central Park. [20] [21] [22] In 2017, ART 2030 curated Ai Weiwei's installation Soleil Levant on the façade of the art institution Kunsthal Charlottenborg. [23] With over 3,500 lifejackets collected from the shores of the Greek island of Lesbos barricading the outer wall of the exhibition gallery, the work renewed focus to the ongoing European migrant crisis, as well as issues surrounding the topics of equality and justice in mainstream and public discourse. Luise Faurschou also owns and manages the art advisory agency Faurschou Art Resources. [27] As an independent art dealer and curator, Luise Faurschou advises and develops projects for public and private museums and art collections worldwide. Among notable exhibitions she has curated is 'Human Nature - Doing, Undoing, and Redoing' with works by Louise Bourgeois for Kistefos Museum and Sculpture Park in Norway. [28] In 2019, she curated the exhibition ''Tomorrow is the Question' with works by Alfredo Jaar, Allora & Calzadilla, Cao Fei, Doug Aitken, Hito Steyerl, Olafur Eliasson, Simon Denny and Tómas Saraceno among others for ARoS. [29] Among other notable exhibitions and permanent installations are Jeppe Hein, Yoko Ono and Ai Weiwei at Chateau La Coste. [30] [31]

From 1986 - 2013, Luise Faurschou co-founded and managed Gallery Faurschou and Faurschou Foundation. Over the years, the gallery became a prominent dealer of the works of Edvard Munch and published in collaboration with the Munch Museum The Edvard Munch Catalogue Raisonné through Cappelen Damm and Thames and Hudson. The two galleries mounted a number of exhibitions, showing works by art history icons such as Pablo Picasso, Robert Rauschenberg, Louise Bourgeois, Andy Warhol, [32] Ai Weiwei, Yoko Ono, [33] [34] Shirin Neshat, Gerhard Richter, Cai Guo-Qiang, Danh Vo, Bill Viola, Michael Kvium, Asger Jorn and Christian Lemmerz.

In 2013 Luise Faurschou went independent and founded Faurschou Art Resources and when the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development was adopted by all United Nations members in 2015, the non-profit organisation ART 2030. [35]

Kirstine Roepstorff is a Danish visual artist who moves between collage and sculpture, as well as producing books. She resides and works in Fredericia, Denmark. In 2016, she represented Denmark in the Danish Pavilion at the 57th International Art Exhibition. In 2018, her works were showcased in the comprehensive solo exhibition "Renaissance of the Night" at Kunsthal Charlottenborg in the Royal Danish Academy of Art.

Kui Hua Zi (Sunflower Seeds) is an art installation created by contemporary artist and political activist Ai Weiwei. It was first exhibited at the Tate Modern art gallery in London from 12 October 2010 to 2 May 2011. The work consisted of one hundred million individually hand-crafted porcelain sunflower seeds which filled the gallery's 1,000 square metre Turbine Hall to depth of ten centimetres.

Jens Faurschou is a Copenhagen-based art collector and art advisor. He is the founder of several art-related institutions, most notably the contemporary art institution, Faurschou Foundation. He is also founder of Copenhagen's centre for large-scale contemporary installation art, Copenhagen Contemporary, and co-founder of the Danish production company for virtual reality art, Khora Contemporary.

Global Goals Week is a shared commitment between a coalition of over 160 partners across all industries, which mobilizes annually in September to bring together communities, demand urgency, and supercharge solutions for the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). It was founded in 2016 by the United Nations Foundation, Project Everyone, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP). It is timed to coincide with the UN General Assembly "High-Level Week" in New York. The week includes events, summits, conferences, forums, workshops, pledges, and other activations in New York, around the world, and online. It usually runs alongside Climate Week NYC, the annual conference of Goalkeepers, Bloomberg Global Business Forum and many other high-level events.

Daniel S. Palmer is an American curator and art historian. Palmer is currently Chief Curator at the SCAD Museum of Art. He was previously the Curator at Public Art Fund, New York, where he organized 18 exhibitions from 2016 to 2022. Before that, he held the position of the Leon Levy Assistant Curator at the Jewish Museum, New York and was a curatorial research assistant at the Whitney Museum of American Art. He received his PhD in Art History from the CUNY Graduate Center in 2021. He also holds a M.Phil in Art History from the CUNY Graduate Center and a BA from Rutgers University.

The Global Development Initiative (GDI), officially the Global Development Initiative — Building on 2030 SDGs for Stronger, Greener and Healthier Global Development, is a multilateral development initiative proposed by Chinese Communist Party general secretary Xi Jinping in 2021.
