Luke Erede Ejohwomu,Adakaji was the Ovie of Abraka Kingdom in Nigeria. He hailed from the Ovowodo/Umeghe ruling house. His Majesty was born on 1 June 1936 to the family of Erede Ejohwomu and Aliatete Ejohwomu. Under his uncle,Patrick Ejohwomu,he commenced his primary school education in 1944 at the Native Authority (N.A.) School,Amai. In 1950,he moved to the N.A. School,Otu-Jeremi;in 1951,he transferred to the Catholic School at Okpara Water Side where he obtained the standard six certificate. In 1952,he gained admission into St. Thomas College,Ibusa from where he obtained Teacher Grade Two Certificate in 1956.
Ejohwomu taught at Catholic Modern School,Abraka between 1957 and 1958. During this period,he read privately for Ordinary and Advanced Levels of the GCE in order to qualify for admission into the university. He passed both examinations in 1958 and 1960 respectively. In October,1961,he gained admission into the University of Nigeria,Nsukka,to read economics. He obtained a B.Sc. degree in economics in June 1964. On graduating,Ejohwomu taught in Urhobo College,Effurun. He taught economics at the Higher School Certificate classes of the college. In September 1968,he was admitted into the University of Ibadan to read for a post-graduate diploma in Librarianship,a course he successfully completed in June,1969. In 1978,he attended a course at the International Training Centre of the International Labour Organization in Turin,Italy,and obtained a diploma in Training Methodology from that institution the same year.
He served in many ministries and departments in the Bendel State Civil Service. From July 1969 to about June 1981,he served in the cooperative division of the Ministry of Trade and Industry as an assistant registrar,senior assistant registrar and principal assistant registrar and assistant chief registrar of cooperatives. He transferred to the administrative cadre in 1981 and moved to the Ministry of Social Development and Culture and headed the culture division of that ministry. Later,he was deployed to the following local government areas as a chairman of Burutu Local Government Area,July 1986 to December 1987,Isoko Local Government Area,July 1989 to December 1990 and Ughelli South Local Government Area,October to December 1991.
Deployed back to the main civil service,he was assigned to the economic matters division of the Military's Governor's Office,Benin City,as its Secretary. In that position,he represented the Governor's Office of the Public Utilities Board as a director. He served in that capacity between 1988 and 1989. From there,he was posted to the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources,Benin City,as a director of finance. During his time there,Ejohwomu looked after the finances of that executive ministry.
When Delta State was created in 1991,he was one of the few civil servants selected by Chief Felix Ibru,the executive governor of the new state,to prepare a programme for its smooth take off. Working with two politicians,Ejohwomu also prepared the plan of activities for the establishment of the Agricultural Development Programme. He attained the rank of a Substantive Director (Grade Level 16) in the Ministry of Agricultural and Natural Resources,before retiring in 1992. On retirement,he was appointed chairman,National Directorate of Employment,Delta State Chapter,by Ibru.
Ejohwomu was appointed to the throne after he was unanimously chosen as Ovie Elect of Abraka Kingdom by his people in accordance with the Bendel State Legal Notice No.99 of 1979 now applicable in Delta State. He was installed according to tradition on 15 March 1994. [1] On 17 April 1995,the Military Administrator of Delta State Group Captain Ibrahim Kefas,FSS,PSC (+) presented him with a Staff of office. His Majesty's warm relationship with other traditional rulers in the country resulted in his palace being a meeting point for Ovies,Emirs,Obis,Igwes and Obas from all over Nigeria.
Following the reign of His Majesty Luke Erede Ejohwomu,Adakaji 1,and the consequent splitting of the Kingdom into two separate kingdoms,HRM AVM Lucky Ochuko Ararile (rtd) was enthroned as the Ovie of Umiaghwa-Abraka Kingdom in April 2012. [2]

His Majesty listened to classical music and enjoyed the game football and documentary films.
He was a Christian (a practicing Catholic and a Knight of St John International,KSJI) St Georges Squad.
His Majesty was married to Her Majesty,Oniemo Elizabeth Eghenure Ejohwomu (Nee Ohwovoriole) daughter of H.R.H D.G Ohwovoriole,Ugbenu Alaka 11,Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom of blessed memory. The marriage was blessed with children and grandchildren.

It is mostly known as a university town and has the main campus of the Delta State University located there. Abraka town is a favourite destination for domestic and international tourists. The Abraka beach is famous for its natural flowing spring water,and has sports recreational facilities for outdoor activities like canoeing,fishing,swimming,barbecue and picnicking.
Olomu is a Kingdom in Delta State,Nigeria. Olomu is one of the oldest kingdoms in Urhobo ethnic nationality of the Niger Delta region.

The Delta State University,Abraka - popularly known as DELSU - is a State government-owned university in Nigeria with the main campus located at Abraka,Delta State and its sub-campus at Oleh. The Oleh campus was established with the 1995 Amended Edict. The university is a multiple-campus university having two campuses within a distance of about 52 km apart. Currently,with a student population of about 22,000,the university offers a range of programmes from the full-time certificate,diploma and degree programmes to part-time evening and weekend degree programmes. DELSU offers postgraduate studies up to a doctoral level. DELSU owns a staff/student counselling centre,an e-learning centre,student accommodation and sporting facilities amidst other infrastructures. It is one of over twenty-five state-owned universities which are overseen and accredited by the National Universities Commission.

Felix Ovudoroye Ibru was a Nigerian business tycoon,architect and politician. He was the first democratically elected Governor of Delta State and Senator for Delta Central Senatorial District. Until his death he held the position of President General of the Urhobo Progressive Union (UPU). As a traditional chieftain of his homeland,Ibru bore the tribal honorific Olorogun and often used it as a pre-nominal style. This title is also borne by the members of his large family in the same way.
Air Commodore (retired) Luke Chijiuba Ochulor served as the first Military Administrator of Delta State,Nigeria,appointed in August 1991 after the state was formed from part of Bendel State during the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida. He handed over to the elected civilian governor Felix Ibru in January 1992 at the start of the Nigerian Third Republic.

Hussey College Warri is a secondary school located along Upper Erejuwa Road in Warri,Delta State,Nigeria. It is one of the oldest and most prestigious colleges in Delta State and Nigeria,having produced many notable figures in the Nigerian professional and political scenery. The school has literally raised several generations of Nigerians from all tribes and backgrounds and schooled them in the best tradition of scholarship,athleticism,citizenship and morality. The 60th anniversary celebration of the foundation of Hussey College,Warri was organised by the Old Students Association in 2007.
The Agbon Kingdom is one of twenty-four subunits of the Urhobo people that have been in existence since before the rise of the Benin Empire in the 1440s and before the arrival of the Portuguese in the Western Niger Delta in the 1480s.
Irri is located in the Isoko South local government area of Delta state,Nigeria. It is one of the petroleum producing communities in Nigeria. It is bordered by Uzere,Aviara,Oyede,Idheze and Oleh. Descendants of Irri migrated to form other small villages and towns,such like Ada,Idheze,Ikpide,Ivrogbo,Iwreogboko,Canaan Irri,Ivori,Uro Irri,etc,and they are usually referred to as children of Irri Kingdom. The people are referred to as Emo Irri,which means children of Irri.
Chamberlain Oyibocha Orovwuje,Ogurimerime I,was the Ovie of Agbon Kingdom from 1958 till 2012. He was also the former chairman of Delta State Council of Traditional Rulers. He ruled the traditional kingdom of Agbon for 54 years and clinched the title of the longest reigning monarch in Delta State.
Onigu Otite was a Nigerian sociologist. He was among the first set of students to attend the first indigenous Nigerian university - University of Nigeria,Nsukka. He wrote several books including The Urhobo People,On the Path of Progress,Ethnic Pluralism and Ethnic Conflicts in Nigeria, and Introduction to Sociology which he co-authored with William Ogionwo. The Urhobo Studies Association USA Chapter regard him as one of the earliest Urhobo scholars to focus attention on the culture and history of the Urhobo People of the Niger Delta.
Obarisi Ovie Omo-Agege is a Nigerian lawyer and politician who served as the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate from 2019 to 2023. He was the senator representing Delta Central Senatorial District from 2015 to 2023.
