Luke Killeen (born 16 April 2005) is an Australian speedway rider. He currently rides in the second tier of British Speedway, for the Oxford Cheetahs in the SGB Championship. [1]

Speedway career

Killeen came to prominence when he won the Australian 125cc national title in 2020. [2] [1] For the 2022 season, he signed for the newly reformed Oxford Cheetahs National Development team called the Oxford Chargers. [3] After a four month delay with passport issues he made his debut. [4]

In 2023, he moved up to ride for the Oxford Cheetahs senior team for the SGB Championship 2023. [5] [6] He also remained with the Chargers for the 2023 NDL season, [7] where he won the NDL league title with Oxford, defeating Leicester in a one-off Grand Final. [8]

He re-signed for Oxford for the 2024 season [9] and shortly afterwards won the Western Australia championship at Pinjar Park Speedway.

The 2023 SGB Championship season was the 76th season of the second tier of British Speedway and the 6th known as the SGB Championship. The British Speedway Network (BSN) streamed 35 matches live for the second year running.

The 2023 National Development League was the third division/tier of British speedway for the 2023 season. It was a semi-professional development league, containing mainly the junior sides of SGB Premiership and SGB Championship clubs. Leicester Lion Cubs were the defending champions having won the title in 2022. Oxford Chargers won the title, defeating Leicester in a one-off Grand Final.

Henry Michael Atkins is an English motorcycle speedway rider. He currently rides in two of the three tiers of British Speedway, for the Oxford Cheetahs in the SGB Championship and the Oxford Chargers in the National Development League.

The 2024 National Development League will be the third division/tier of British motorcycle speedway for the 2024 season. It is a semi-professional development league, containing mainly the junior sides of SGB Premiership and SGB Championship clubs. Oxford Chargers are the defending champions having won the title in 2023. The league will be sponsored by the World Speedway Riders' Association.
