Lupematasila Galumalemana Tologata Togia Tile Leia (born ~1964) [1] is a Samoan politician. He is a member of the Human Rights Protection Party.

Lupematasila was educated at Avele College, the Papua New Guinea University of Technology, La Trobe University in Australia and Massey University in New Zealand. [1] He joined the Electric Power Corporation in 1987 and in 2011 was appointed General Manager. [1] He was first elected to the Legislative Assembly of Samoa in the 2021 Samoan general election. [2]

FiamēNaomi Mataʻafa is a Samoan politician and High Chieftainess (matai) who has served as the Prime Minister of Samoa since May 2021. She is the leader of the Faʻatuatua i le Atua Samoa ua Tasi (FAST) party and is the first woman to hold the offices of Cabinet Minister, Deputy Prime Minister, and Prime Minister in Samoa. She is also the first prime minister to not be a member of the Human Rights Protection Party since 1982.

The prime minister of the Independent State of Samoa is the head of government of Samoa. The prime minister is a member of the Legislative Assembly, and is appointed by the O le Ao o le Malo for a five-year term. Since independence in 1962, a total of seven individuals have served as prime minister. The incumbent was disputed due to the 2021 constitutional crisis, when Tuila'epa Sa'ilele Malielegaoi refused to accept the results of the 2021 general election. On 23 July 2021, the Samoan Court of Appeal ruled that the Faʻatuatua i le Atua Samoa ua Tasi (FAST) party had been in government since 24 May. Tuilaepa then conceded defeat, resulting in FAST party leader Fiame Naomi Mataʻafa becoming prime minister.

2021 Samoan general election General election held in Samoa

General elections were held in Samoa on 9 April 2021. In March 2021, Fiamē Naomi Mataʻafa, a former member of the ruling Human Rights Protection Party (HRPP) and a former Deputy Prime Minister, was elected to lead the main opposition party, Faʻatuatua i le Atua Samoa ua Tasi (FAST). Tuilaepa led the HRPP into the election.
