Shaykh Luqman Jimoh is a Nigerian professor of Islamic medicine and theology who became the acting vice chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete, Kwara State, Nigeria, since 5 January 2023 following the death of former vice chancellor, Professor Mustapha Akanbi. [1] [2] He was the deputy vice-chancellor (academics) until his appointment as the vice-chancellor. [3] [4]
Jimoh had his first degree in Arabic from the University of Ilorin in the year 1988 and then obtained his master's degree in Arabic and Islamic studies from the University of Ibadan in 1995 while his Ph.D. was in Islamic studies from the Lagos State University 2007. [5]
He was first a lecturer at the Department of Religion and Islamic Contemporary Studies of the Lagos State University, Nigeria, where he lectured for 16 years between 1996 and 2012. He joined Kwara State University as a member of the Faculty of Religion, History and Heritage Studies in 2012 and has since risen in rank to the position of the school's current vice chancellor. [6]

University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), is a federal government-owned public research university in Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. The university's main campus sits on an expansive area of land, about 15,000 hectares in the ancient city of Ilorin; making it the largest university in Nigeria and one of the largest in Africa by landmass. The university comprises 16 faculties and over 100 academic departments offering 103 programmes. It was established by a decree of the Federal Military Government of Nigeria in August, 1975. The University of Ilorin has the highest enrollment of foreign students in Nigeria. And again in 2023, and also in 2024, it was announced by the JAMB Head, Professor Ishaq Oloyede to be the sought-after University, for the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examinations (UTME), making it for the 10th consecutive year.

Razaq Deremi Abubakre is former vice-chancellor of Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin, Kwara State, Nigeria. He is former Vice-Chancellor and Federal Commissioner for the Public Complaints Commission between 2012 and 2018. Muhammad Kamalud-Deen Al-Adabiy, also known as Alhaji Agba (1893–2005), was a prominent Nigerian Islamic scholar and the founder of Azumratul Adabiyyah Al-Kamoliyyah, the Ansarul Islam Society of Nigeria, Muhammad Kamalud-deen College, and Muhammad Kamalud-deen University. Following his passing, he was succeeded by his son, Sofiyyullah Muhammad Kamalud-deen.
