Lye By Mistake were an American experimental metal band from St. Louis, Missouri, United States, [1] that formed in 2004. They released their most recent album, Fea Jur , on October 13, 2009. [2] They blend many genres into their music, including progressive rock, jazz fusion, and mathcore. After seven years as a musical project, the members went their separate ways in 2011. By late 2012, the band's dissolution was confirmed by both former vocalist Tony Saputo and former drummer Drew Button, although no official breakup announcement was ever made.

History

After they formed, they self-produced and released a five track EP, "The Fabulous" in 2004.

In May 2006, they released their debut album "Arrangements For Fulminating Vective" on Lambgoat Records. The album was mixed by Eric Rachel and mastered by Alan Douches.

In June 2008, vocalist Tony Saputo left the band. The band intended to find another vocalist but decided to continue for their second album as an instrumental band. In October 2009, "Fea Jur" was released as their sophomore effort on the record label Black Market Activities.

The band's name comes from Edward Gorey's book of the illustrated alphabet, in which J is for James who took lye by mistake. [3]

It Dies Today is an American metalcore band that formed in Buffalo, New York during September 2001. The band achieved popular success in 2004 with the release of their debut album, The Caitiff Choir. After frontman Nicholas Brooks departed in 2006, just after the release of the band's sophomore effort Sirens, It Dies Today released Lividity in 2009 before going on hiatus in 2010. The band reunited briefly for a show in 2012, but the reunion paused again in 2015. On December 22, 2022, It Dies Today was announced as an act appearing at FurnaceFest 2023.

Paria was an American experimental metal band formed in 2001 and based in Omaha, Nebraska. They have released one EP on Imagine It Records and two full length albums for Black Market Activities. They went on indefinite hiatus in May 2010. As of possibly 2021 or 2022 they have been working on a third album.

Dr. Acula is an American deathcore band from Long Island, New York. Formed in 2005, the group has released six studio albums and one EP. They were signed to Victory Records at the time of their initial disbandment and are currently signed to Silent Pendulum Records. The band is known for the use of soundclips from movies and TV shows as an accent to their songs. Their band name is derived from an alternative perspective from the name of Dracula, which was originally part of a joke coined by comedian Mitch Hedberg. After disbanding in 2012, the original line up reunited in late 2019 and released their 6th album, Dr. Acula in September of 2022.

The Silver Scream is the fifth studio album by the American heavy metal band Ice Nine Kills, released on October 5, 2018, by Fearless Records. Much like their previous album where all tracks were inspired by different novels, all the tracks are inspired by horror films. Some examples of the source material are; A Nightmare on Elm Street, Friday the 13th, and The Texas Chain Saw Massacre ("Savages"). The album features guest appearances by the band's former singer Jeremy Schwartz, Tony Lovato of Mest, actress Chelsea Talmadge, Randy Strohmeyer of Finch, Buddy Schaub and "JR" Wasilewski of Less Than Jake, Will Salazar of Fenix TX, and Stanley Kubrick's grandson Sam Kubrick of the UK band Shields. The album marked their highest chart positions in the US, debuting at number 29 on the Billboard 200 and number two on the Hard Rock Albums chart. "A Grave Mistake" became the band's first top ten hit on the Billboard Mainstream Rock charts. This is the final album to feature guitarist and vocalist Justin DeBlieck, as well as bassist Justin Morrow, who departed from the band in March 2019 to join Motionless in White.
