M. H. Saboo Siddik (commonly known as MHSSE or Saboo Siddik or Saboo) is an engineering college located in Byculla at Saboo Siddik Polytechnic Road, Mumbai, India, affiliated with the University of Mumbai. [1] It is an 'A' Grade institution, and is accredited by AICTE. [2] The college 154 staff (57-teaching, 97-non-teaching) and a student body of about 1200.
The Mohammed Haji Saboo Siddik Institute (A Muslim Minority Institution) owes its existence to the munificence of late Mohammed, son of Haji Saboo Siddik, who bequeathed a large sum of money for establishing, conducting and managing this Institution for imparting Vocational, Technical and Industrial training and education. The value of the assets, so bequeathed, exceeded Rupees Three Crore at the time of donation.
The Institution is managed and administered by the Anjuman-i-Islam as the sole trustee, appointed by the Bombay High Court's decree and scheme framed and sanctioned thereunder.
The college building accommodates workshops, laboratories, classrooms, lecture halls, drawing halls, student's common room, seminar hall, library, reading-rooms, offices. The library of the college is housed in a separate building and it has reference sections and reading-rooms for students and staff. A Seminar Hall was inaugurated by Zafar Saifullah IAS, Cabinet Secretary of India & Dr. Raja Ramanna, Minister of State for Defence and an eminent scientist of India, on the annual day celebrations on 9 April 2001.[ citation needed ]
Sardar Patel College of Engineering (SPCE) is a government-aided autonomous engineering college located in Mumbai, India. Kumaraguru College of Technology (KCT), Coimbatore, is a private engineering college started in 1984 under the auspices of the Ramanandha Adigalar Foundation, a charitable educational trust of Sakthi Group. Situated on a sprawling 156-acre campus in the IT corridor of Coimbatore, KCT is an autonomous institution affiliated with Anna University, Chennai, and approved by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). KCT was granted five-year accreditation status in its first cycle of accreditation. Later, in the second cycle, with a CGPA of 3.21 on a 4.0 scale, an "A" grade was awarded, which was valid until December 2, 2021. In July 2022, following the NAAC Peer Team visit for the third cycle of accreditation, KCT was awarded an A++ grade. It is the highest grade awarded to institutions by NAAC, with KCT securing a CGPA of 3.62 on a 4– point scale. And all eligible UG programs have also been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA).
The All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) is a statutory body, and a national-level council for technical education, under the Department of Higher Education. Established in November 1945 first as an advisory body, which was given statutory status by an Act of Parliament in 1987, the AICTE is responsible for proper planning and coordinated development of the technical education and management education system in India.
