MG XPower is a British automotive brand created by MG Rover Group in 2001 and now owned by MG Sports and Racing Europe, based in Tenbury Wells. [1]

Overview

The MG XPower brand was created by MG Rover for their motorsport subsidiary, MG Sport & Racing Ltd., in 2001. [2] The brand was subsequently used for the MG XPower SV sports car in 2002.

William Riley bought the rights to the brand from the administrators in 2008, following the collapse of MG Rover three years earlier. [3]

MG Cars Car brand and former British car company

MG is a British automotive marque founded by Cecil Kimber in the 1920s, and M.G. Car Company Limited was the British sports car manufacturer that made the marque famous. Best known for its open two-seater sports cars, MG also produced saloons and coupés, with engines up to three litres in size. As well as being a Caterham importer, VT also imports Lotus cars and Royal Enfield motorcycles into Japan.

Qvale

Qvale was an independent Italian car manufacturer founded in 2000 by American Bruce Qvale, the son of businessman Kjell Qvale. Qvale's sole product was the Mangusta, originally the De Tomaso Biguà. Kjell Qvale founded British Motors in 1947 in San Francisco, California and was a well known importer of European luxury cars. Kjell was the first distributor for Jaguar on the west coast and one of the founders of the San Francisco Auto Show.

MG ZT Motor vehicle

The MG ZT is a car which was produced by MG Rover from 2001 to 2005. It was offered in saloon and estate versions, the latter designated as the MG ZT-T. Styling is similar to the Rover 75, upon which it was based, although various modifications, most noticeably the wheels and tyres, make for a far sportier ride. Production ceased in April 2005, amidst financial turmoil at MG Rover.

Qvale Mangusta Motor vehicle

The Qvale Mangusta is a sports car produced in limited numbers by the Italian automaker Qvale between 1999 and 2002. During development and very early production, it was developed from the De Tomaso Biguá concept car shown to the general public at the 1996 Geneva Motor Show. When the car started production, it was renamed De Tomaso Mangusta before De Tomaso became disassociated from the project and all subsequent cars received Qvale badging.

MG Sports and Racing Europe Limited was a British automotive company based in Eardiston, Tenbury Wells in Worcestershire. The company was founded by William Riley, who acquired assets of the MG Sport and Racing subsidiary of MG Rover Group after its demise, with the intention of restarting production of the MG XPower SV sportscar, renamed MG XPower WR. The company was registered on 29 January 2007.

The Amalgamated Drawing Office was the design and engineering department of the British Motor Corporation. From the early 1950s, the resulting projects of the office were known by the initials ADO. The numbers were assigned to vehicle and engineering projects, some resulting in production models. The ADO numbering system continued well beyond BMC's absorption into British Leyland, who continued to use the convention until the late 1970s.
