MIT Robocon Tech Team is a group of engineering students of Maharashtra Institute of Technology, Pune. They work systematically for a year before the Robocon India competition. MIT Tech Team has represented India four times at the international ABU Robocon, in 2008, 2010, 2012 and 2013. The MIT Tech Team is known for its consistent performance by being at least semi-finalist nine times in ten years.

The theme for Robocon 2008 chosen by India was Govinda, a traditional Indian deity who used to play earthly games by capturing butter/cheese from the heads of Gopis. It was won by Institute of Technology, Nirma University. MIT Tech Team was runner-up. Both teams represented India in ABU Robocon as the host country is represented by two teams. [1]

The theme for Robocon 2010 chosen by Egypt was Robo-Pharaohs Build Pyramids. It was won by MIT Tech Team. [2]

National Winner of Robocon India 2012

The theme for Robocon 2012 chosen by Hong Kong, "Peng On Dai Gat". It was won by MIT Tech Team. [3]

National Winner of Robocon India 2013

The theme for Robocon 2013 chosen by Vietnam was "The Green Planet". It was won by MIT Tech Team. [4]

College of Engineering Pune (COEP), is an autonomous institute of the Government of Maharashtra, situated in Pune, Maharashtra, India. It is affiliated to the Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University and was established in 1960. The construction of the college was started in 1957 and was completed in 1960. ABU Robocon Asian Oceanian College robot competition

The ABU Asia-Pacific Robot Contest is an Asian-Oceanian college robot competition, founded in 2002 by Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union. In the competition robots compete to complete a task within a set period of time. The contest aims to create friendship among young people with similar interests who will lead their countries in the 21st century, as well as help advance engineering and broadcasting technologies in the region. The event is broadcast in many countries through ABU member broadcasters.

Robocon India Asia-Pacific robotic competition

Robocon is organised by Asia-Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU), a collection of over 20 countries of Asia Pacific Region. NHK, Japan had already been organising such contests at national level and also became the host of the first ABU Robocon in 2002. Since then, every year one of the member broadcasters hosts this international event.

Arantxa Sanchis Indian professional snooker player

Arantxa Sanchis is a female professional English billiards and snooker player from India. She won a gold medal in the Women's Team event at the inaugural IBSF World 6-Red Snooker and Team Snooker Championship in Carlow, Ireland, on 6 October 2013. It was a historic first gold medal for Indian women's snooker at a World Championship. On 27 September 2015, she won the inaugural IBSF World Billiards Championship in Adelaide, Australia. This feat made her the only woman in the world to hold IBSF World titles in both billiards and snooker.

Government College of Engineering and Research, Avasari Khurd Engineering college in Pune, Maharashtra

Government College of Engineering and Research, Avasari Khurd (GCOEARA) is a Maharashtra state government engineering college. It was established in 2009. The college is located about 65 km north of Pune, on Pune-Nashik highway (NH-50) and 65 km from the shrine Bhimashankar. The campus is spread over 50 acres with academic buildings and separate administrative and workshop buildings, a separate residential zone with quarters for faculty and staff and hostels. The college is approved by All India Council for Technical Education, New Delhi, and is affiliated to Savitribai Phule Pune University. Directorate of Technical Education, Maharashtra state, Mumbai controls the institute through its regional office at Pune.
