Burlington is a city in Ward County, North Dakota, United States. It was founded in 1883, the third in a series that included two earlier settlements. Despite this, Burlington is still the oldest city in Ward County, as well as north-western and north central North Dakota. In 1885, as it was the only city in the then-newly formed Imperial Ward County, it was made the county seat, a position it held until 1888. The population was 1,060 at the 2010 census. Burlington is part of the Minot Micropolitan Statistical Area.

The DakotaDome is a 9,100-seat multi-purpose stadium on N. Dakota Street in Vermillion, South Dakota. Opened in 1979 for a cost of $8.2 million, it is home to the University of South Dakota Coyotes for numerous athletic events, including football, men's and women's swimming and diving, and track. The DakotaDome was also the home site for the NAIA school Briar Cliff University football team from 2013 until 2017, when they re-located 25 miles to the southeast to Sioux City, Iowa, which is where their campus is located. The DakotaDome hosts other events throughout the year, including the South Dakota high school football championships each November. In 2014 a proposal for a new basketball arena went through and construction began just south of the Dome. The Minot State Beavers are the intercollegiate athletic teams of Minot State University (MSU), located in Minot, North Dakota. The Beavers currently in the process of transitioning from the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) to the NCAA Division II. The university was previously a member of the NAIA's Dakota Athletic Conference (DAC) and competed as an independent as a provisional member for the 2011–12 academic year before joining the Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC) in 2012. Minot State Beavers men's and women's ice hockey teams currently play in the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA), the men's team plays as is an independent team at the ACHA Men's Division I level and women's team at the ACHA Women's Division II level.

Herb Parker Stadium is a 4,500-seat multi-purpose stadium in Minot, North Dakota, USA. The stadium is home to the Minot State University Beavers football and women's soccer teams. The stadium was named for the long time coach and athletic director, Herbert Mitchell Parker in 1983. The Beavers formerly belonged to the Dakota Athletic Conference in the NAIA, but in 2012 they became part of the NCAA Division II, Northern Sun Intercollegiate Conference (NSIC). The stadium is undergoing a multiple phase improvement project, which includes construction of a press box, concessions, ticketing office, a lobby, merchandising area and a video scoreboard.
West Minot is a neighborhood in Minot, North Dakota, located in the Souris River Valley. It borders Oak Park to the South, North Hill to the North, Bel Air to the west and Nubbin Park to the east. The neighborhood is largely residential and there are no commercial thoroughfares, which run through the neighborhood. It received its name when at the time it was the westernmost neighborhood in Minot. Today, there are neighborhoods, such as Bel Air further west of here, but the area has retained the name West Minot. West Minot is home to the Quentin N. Burdick Jobs Center, Minot's Hebrew Cemetery and the West Minot Church of God.
Polaris Park is a park and surrounding residential neighborhood on North Hill in Minot, North Dakota. The neighborhood is roughly bounded by 30th Ave NW, Frontage Road, 24th Ave NW and 8th St NW. The park, which is owned by the Minot Park District, is home to a 9-hole disc golf course, an outdoor ice rink, a skatepark, tennis courts, a picnic shelter and a baseball field. The Polaris Park neighborhood is home to a number of single family homes and apartment complexes north and east of the park. Adjacent to the park is the St. Alexius Clinic, which is affiliated with St. Alexius Medical Center in Bismarck. Frontage Road in Polaris Park is home to a few businesses, including MLT Vacations, North Hill's second largest employer.
Minot State Beavers women's ice hockey represents Minot State University (MSU) in Women's Division 1 of the American Collegiate Hockey Association (ACHA) and in Women's Midwest College Hockey (WMCH). MSU was one of the founding members of the ACHA's second women's division in 2006–07, but has seen its greatest successes within the last few years. The Beavers qualified for the ACHA National Tournament for the first time in 2017 and made it to the semifinals, and followed that up with back-to-back runner-up finishes in 2018 and 2019. Minot then jumped to Division 1, and was one of the founding members of WMCH with Liberty University, Lindenwood University–Belleville, the University of Minnesota, McKendree University, and Midland University.
