MTV's Greatest Hits was a pop music program on the European television channel MTV. It started on 19 March 1990, and between 1991 and 1994 was presented by Paul King, with Pip Dann, Richie Rich and others substituting for King in his absence. King used a variety of catchphrases. [1] MTV's Greatest Hits gained in popularity through the years. After Paul King's departure the show continued on MTV with different VJs, and ended in or about 1996.

The main concept was to show all the greatest hits from the 1960s, 1970s, 1980s and early 1990s. The program featured videos from Madonna, Prince, Duran Duran and others.

The show was broadcast at 4pm and then repeated at 10pm CET. In 1993, the program was aired at 1pm and then at 8pm

Farewell to Paul King

The last edition with Paul King was aired on 29 July 1994. He said: "I am pulling out some of those videos that I really do think deserve to be called great and classic".

Nigel John Taylor is a British musician who is best known as the bass guitarist for new romantic band Duran Duran, of which he was a founding member. Duran Duran was one of the most popular bands in the world during the 1980s due in part to their music videos which played in heavy rotation in the early days of MTV. Taylor played with Duran Duran from its founding in 1978 until 1997, when he left to pursue a solo recording and film career. He recorded a dozen solo releases through his private record label B5 Records over the next four years, had a lead role in the movie Sugar Town, and made appearances in a half dozen other film projects. He rejoined Duran Duran for a reunion of the original five members of the group in 2001 and has remained with the group since.

Nick Egan is a British visual design artist and director of music videos, commercials and film. He graduated from the Watford College of Art and Design with a DGA in 1976. While attending college, he created cover art for the singles "White Man In Hammersmith Palais" and "Tommy Gun" for The Clash and T-shirt design for the single "Sheena is A Punk Rocker" for The Ramones. His first chart topping album cover was Dexys Midnight Runners' 'Searching For The Young Soul Rebels'. He collaborated with former Sex Pistols manager and fashion entrepreneur Mr. Malcolm McLaren, for whom he designed the album cover for Bow Wow Wow's 'See Jungle'. His longtime partnership with McLaren McLaren led the art direction of McLaren's own inventive albums; Duck Rock and 'Fans'. Egan relocated from Britain to New York, where he created cover art for legendary artists like Bob Dylan and Iggy Pop. Egan also art directed books; John Lennon Listen To These Pictures by Rock-n-Roll photographer Bob Gruen and Bob Dylan's Drawn Blank.
