MV Narrative is a residential cruise ship built and owned by the Miami-based shipbuilding company Storylines. [1] [2] [3] [4] It will be launched in 2027 from Croatia. [3] [5] [6]

Contents

The vessel consists of 530 residences and various amenities. [3] [1] [7] It is designed to sail to six continents, allowing residents to use their units as temporary or permanent homes. [3] [1] Units range from one to four bedrooms, most with balconies, and are available in coastal or contemporary interior designs. [3] [1] The ship features twenty restaurants and bars, a microbrewery, three pools, a bowling alley, fitness and medical facilities, and other amenities. [8] [1] A youth education program is also provided for children on board. [3] All-inclusive fees, which cover, housekeeping, gratuities, laundry service, meals, and Wi-Fi are mandatory. [3] [9]

Construction

Storylines signed a construction contract with Brodosplit Shipyard in Split, Croatia, to build MV Narrative, which will be powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). [10] [11] The contract with Brodosplit Shipyard was renewed in March 2024, with the ship's design completed in preparation for construction. [12] [13]

TUI Cruises is a cruise line based in Germany. It was formed in 2007 as a joint venture between the German tourism company TUI AG and the American cruise line operator Royal Caribbean Group, both of whom hold a 50% stake in the company.

Utopia is a planned luxury residential ocean liner project. A formal marketing launch of the ship, reportedly costing US$1.1 billion, was expected in 2021. The ship was originally planned to launch in 2017 but lack of funding got in the way and the binding letter of intent to build Utopia was amended in 2017. The ship was to be built by Samsung Heavy Industries, one of the largest shipbuilders in the world. The Finnish engineering company Elomatic Marine is credited for the design concept of the vessel, with architectural design by Tillberg Design U.S.

Meyer Wismar is a German shipbuilding company, headquartered in Wismar. After June 1, 1990 it was part of the Deutschen Maschinen- und Schiffbau AG, from 2009 it was part of the Nordic Yards Holding GmbH, and in 2016 it became part of the Lloyd Werft Group. In June 2022 Thyssenkrupp Marine Systems (TKMS) acquired the Wismar site of MV Werften. In November 2022, a lease agreement was signed with Meyer Werft to complete the Global Dream with the yard renamed Meyer Wismar.

MV <i>Glen Sannox</i> (2017) Car and passenger ferry for Caledonian MacBrayne

MV Glen Sannox is a car and passenger ferry constructed at Ferguson Marine in Port Glasgow for the Scottish Government asset company CMAL to lease to its ferry operator Caledonian MacBrayne, planned to serve the Ardrossan to Brodick crossing to the Isle of Arran. It is to be the first of two dual-fuel CalMac ferries, capable of operating on either marine gas oil, or LNG which offers a marked reduction in sulphur, nitrous oxide and carbon emissions. The ship's name, chosen from a shortlist by public ballot on 1 June 2017, recalls an earlier Arran ferry.

<i>Golden Horizon</i> Sail cruise ship, built 2000

SV Golden Horizon is a steel-hulled five-masted barque rigged tall ship which is in service as a cruise ship. Originally named Flying Clipper, the luxury vessel was designed by Polish naval architect Zygmunt Choreń, for Star Clippers Ltd. of Sweden, and built by the Brodosplit Shipyard in Split, Croatia. She is the largest sailing ship ever launched. Her design was based on France II, a famous French five-mast cargo windjammer built in 1911.

Salish-class ferry Class of double-ended ferries in British Columbia, Canada

The Salish-class vessels are four intermediate-capacity ferries operated by BC Ferries and were built in 2016 at Remontowa Shipbuilding S.A. in Gdańsk, Poland. They were the first dual-fuel powered vessels in British Columbia service, capable of using liquified natural gas or diesel oil to operate. Salish Orca entered service on the Comox–Powell River route in May 2017. Salish Eagle entered service on the Tsawwassen–Southern Gulf Islands route in June 2017. Salish Raven entered service for the Southern Gulf Islands on August 3, 2017. These vessels replaced Queen of Nanaimo and Queen of Burnaby.

<i>Le Commandant Charcot</i> French icebreaking cruise ship

Le Commandant Charcot is an icebreaking cruise ship operated by the French shipping company Compagnie du Ponant. Named after the French polar scientist Jean-Baptiste Charcot, the vessel was built at Vard Tulcea shipyard in Romania, from where she was moved to Søviknes for final outfitting and delivery in 2021.

The Sphere-class cruise ship is a class of cruise ships currently under construction that will enter service with Princess Cruises in February 2024. They will be the largest ships built for Princess Cruises and the company's first ships powered by liquefied natural gas (LNG). The first name was revealed to be Sun Princess.

Icon of the Seas is the lead ship of the Icon class. She entered service on 27 January 2024 out of the Port of Miami in the US. At 248,663 gross tonnage (GT), Icon of the Seas is the largest cruise ship in the world.
