Ma Mya Ching is a Bangladeshi politician from Bandarban belonging to Bangladesh Nationalist Party. She is a former member of the Jatiya Sangsad.
Ching is Aung Shwe Prue Chowdhury's co-sister-in-law and she is Saching Prue Jerry's aunt. [1] [2] [3] She was elected as a member of the Jatiya Sangsad from Reserved Women's Seat-30 in the Fifth Jatiya Sangsad Election. [4] She was also elected as a member of the Jatiya Sangsad from Reserved Women's Seat-30 in the Sixth General Election of Bangladesh. [5]
The Jatiya Sangsad,often referred to simply as the Sangsad or JS and also known as the House of the Nation,is the supreme legislative body of Bangladesh. The current parliament of Bangladesh contains 350 seats,including 50 seats reserved exclusively for women. Elected occupants are called Member of Parliament,or MP. The 11th National Parliamentary Election was held on 30 December 2018. Elections to the body are held every five years,unless a parliament is dissolved earlier by the President of Bangladesh.
General elections were held in Bangladesh on 27 February 1991. The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) emerged as the largest party in parliament,winning 140 of the 300 directly-elected seats. The BNP formed a government with the support of the Islamic party Jamaat-e-Islami,and on 20 March Khaleda Zia was sworn in for her first term as Prime Minister.
