Maarten Cox (born 30 March 1985) is a Belgian singer who was a contestant on Idool 2004 , the second season of the Belgian version of Idols , the reality television-music competition series. His audition was in October 2004. He was eliminated on 14 November 2004 finishing sixth overall. After Idool, he released his album Terugblik (meaning Retrospective), a collection of new interpretations of Dutch oldies by various artists including Tom Van Stiphout, Eric Melaerts, Vincent Pierens, Miguel Wiels. "Malle Babbe", a cover of a Rob de Nijs and Boudewijn de Groot hit was his debut single.
Cox had started at an early age as part of a children's choir "De Piccolo's". He studied music theory and later piano, vocals and playing the saxophone. After playing in Tovenaar van Oz, a Dutch version of Wizard of Oz, he formed a duo with pianist Toon Meuris called Perplex. Adding Peter Thys as drummer, he continued performing as a trio.
Starting December 2011, he joined TV Limburg as host and presenter of Studio TVL alongside Cynthia en Rudi. [1]
He returned in 2012 with a string of charting singles in the Flemish Ultratop Top 50, the Belgian singles chart.

Idool 2003 was the first season of the Belgian version of the Idol series. It was won by Peter Evrard, and followed by Idool 2004. The series was officially launched on 28 September 2002 by Belgian television network VTM. The hosts of the show are Koen & Kris Wauters of the group Clouseau. The jury members were Jean Blaute, Nina De Man, Jan Leyers & Bart Brusseleers.
Idool 2004 was the second season of the Flemish version of the Idol series. It was won by Joeri Fransen, who could not follow the footsteps of former winner Peter Evrard and only release one album before he was dropped by his record company. However, second runner-up Sandrine Van Handenhoven, who was a longtime favorite throughout the season above the winner and the runner-up, enjoyed an ongoing success as a singer as well as the host of the Flemish Big Brother programme and therefore is now considered as the unofficial winner of Idool 2005 as she almost represented Belgium in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2008, coming in close 2nd in the national final. Laura Ramaekers has already been a semifinalist on Idool 2003.
Krezip is a Dutch pop, rock, and alternative music band from Tilburg, North Brabant, Netherlands, formed in 1997.
