The Macedonian Orthodox Diocese of Europe is a diocese of the Macedonian Orthodox Church in Western Europe. It is led by Metropolitan Pimen of Europe from 6 April 2006.

Contents

The diocese today has 35 church communities across western European countries, of which 13 are in Germany. In its period of existence the diocese has built four new churches in Malmö, Triengen, Berlin and Mainz. Another one is being built in Zagreb. [1] [ needs update ] In London, the church worships in the chapel of the House of St Barnabas in Soho.

Naum, also known as Naum of Ohrid or Naum of Preslav, was a medieval Bulgarian writer and missionary among the Slavs, considered one of the Seven Apostles of the First Bulgarian Empire. He was among the disciples of Cyril and Methodius and is associated with the creation of the Glagolitic and Cyrillic script. Naum was among the founders of the Pliska Literary School. Afterwards Naum worked at the Ohrid Literary School. He was among the first saints declared by the Bulgarian Orthodox Church after its foundation in the 9th century. <span class="mw-page-title-main">Orthodox Ohrid Archbishopric</span> Former Autonomous archbishopric of the Serbian Orthodox Church

The Orthodox Ohrid Archbishopric was an autonomous Eastern Orthodox archbishopric of the Serbian Orthodox Church (SOC) with jurisdiction over the territory of North Macedonia. Its creation was initiated in 2002, and formalized in 2005. In 2023, after the reconciliation of the SOC and the Macedonian Orthodox Church (MOC), the OOA was integrated into MOC. On 28 June 2023, the Holy Synod of OOA made an official announcement, stating that it has fulfilled its mission, and noting that OOA hierarchs have collectively joined MOC.
