It is distributed in Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco,, Sudan, Ethiopia and Somalia. It was described by Édouard Lefèvre in 1876. It measures between 3.6 and 4.5 mm.
