Macronutrient preload

Macronutrient preload is a dieting technique in which a small amount of macronutrients are eaten at a fixed interval before a meal.[ citation needed ]

Fibers in a preload stimulate a feeling of fullness in the stomach. The glucomannan fiber preload is approved for weight control by European Food Safety Authority [1] The preload should also have a low glycemic index and contain few calories.

Low-fat diet

It aims to keep a healthy energy balance in patients, as well as providing sufficient amounts other nutrients such as protein, vitamins, minerals.

The phenolic content in tea refers to the phenols and polyphenols, natural plant compounds which are found in tea. These chemical compounds affect the flavor and mouthfeel of tea. Polyphenols in tea include catechins, theaflavins, tannins, and flavonoids. As of 2020, there is no high-quality medical evidence that tea polyphenols provide any benefit for physical health or lower the risk of any disease.

Because of the large structural diversity and extensive metabolism of dietary polyphenols, their fate in vivo and possible health effects remain undetermined as of the early 21st century. Although polyphenols are speculated to be part of the health-promoting effects of consuming fruits and vegetables, no evidence exists to date that dietary polyphenols actually provide health benefits.

Chromium is claimed to be an essential element involved in the regulation of blood glucose levels within the body. More recent reviews have questioned this however.

Oat beta-glucan

Oat β-glucans are water-soluble β-glucans derived from the endosperm of oat kernels known for their dietary contribution as components of soluble fiber. Due to their property to lower cholesterol and potentially reduce the risk of cardiovascular diseases, oat β-glucans have been assigned a qualified health claim by the European Food Safety Authority and the US Food and Drug Administration.
