Dropkick Murphys are an American Celtic punk band formed in Quincy, Massachusetts in 1996. Singer and bassist Ken Casey has been the band's only constant member. Other current members include drummer Matt Kelly, singer Al Barr, guitarist James Lynch, multi-instrumentalist Tim Brennan and multi-instrumentalist Jeff DaRosa.
Brighton is a former town and current neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts, United States, located in the northwestern corner of the city. It is named after the English city of Brighton. Initially Brighton was part of Cambridge, and known as "Little Cambridge". Brighton separated from Cambridge in 1807 after a bridge dispute, and was annexed to Boston in 1874. Having featured a huge variety of musicians since 1987, the establishment was described in 2007 as "the nexus of metro Boston's rock-club scene for local and touring bands" by the Boston Phoenix.
Downtown Recorders is a recording studio in Boston, Massachusetts. Located in the city's Cyclorama building in the South End, it has been a focal point of the Boston music scene since the studio's inception in 1979 by two local musicians, Mitch Benoff and Benny Kay. Bands such as Georgee, the Pixies, Human Sexual Response and The Real Kids have recorded at the studio. The studio differs from many in that the control booth was installed at an angle to the main recording booth, and that there is no drum booth installed — the drummer performs with the rest of the band.

No, Virginia... is the first compilation album by American dark cabaret band The Dresden Dolls. It was released in Europe on May 19, 2008 and North America on May 20, 2008. A special edition was released in the US via the iTunes Store and Amazon.com's MP3 service on June 10, 2008. The compilation is a companion piece to the band's second studio album, 2006's Yes, Virginia..., and contains tracks left over from recording sessions dating back to 2003, along with B-sides and tracks released on compilations. Singer Amanda Palmer has emphasized that the unreleased tracks from Yes, Virginia... were left off the album due to issues with the flow of the album, and not with the tracks themselves. Five tracks from No, Virginia... were recorded with Sean Slade in January 2008 at Mad Oak Studios. The songs themselves were written years ago but had not been recorded until the session with Slade. One song from the album, "The Kill", has been made available for streaming on the band's MySpace profile.
The Allston Mall was the provisional name for a space located on the second floor at 107 Brighton Avenue, Allston, Massachusetts, USA. Owned by Marsha Berman from approximately 1960 to 2005, it was home to countless examples of low rent alternative entrepreneurialism and cultural experimentation. It also provided off-and-on illegal housing to a number of marginal types. The building itself is a two-storey, mixed-use, commercial brick building constructed somewhere around 1900. It is still in use today but is no longer owned by Berman.
Harpers Ferry was a live music venue and bar in the Allston neighborhood of Boston, Massachusetts. It was in the high traffic central student section of Boston, equidistant from both Boston College and Boston University. Hosting national touring acts and regional acts, Harpers Ferry became known as "Boston's Best Live Music". The development of the "Allston Rock City" music scene centered on Harpers Ferry as a primary venue. Harpers Ferry closed down unexpectedly on October 31, 2010. The location is now home to the Brighton Music Hall.

Primetime is the second full-length album from Boston-based rock group The Lights Out. Self-released at midnight on January 1, 2011, it was produced by Boston Music Awards Producer Of The Year: Benny Grotto at Mad Oak Studios in Allston, Massachusetts. The album's theme is about what it is like to be in a band. To promote the album, The Lights Out posted advertisements featuring their tour van on Craigslist, AutoTrader and Cars.com. The album cover features an image of the band's tour van which they named "Tim," with the reflection of the Allston bar, The Model Cafe, where the band got its start.
Chris Eskola is musician from Boston, Massachusetts, locally known as a bassist who has performed with a number of hard rock, metal, punk, and experimental bands in the Boston area. Chris briefly attended Berklee in the late 1990s, and plays trombone in addition to the bass. He is currently the bassist for Matalon and Face of the Sun

On Fire is the third full-length album from The Lights Out. It was released on June 1, 2012, and "Today Was the Day" was selected as MP3 of the Week by the Boston Phoenix. It was produced by Benny Grotto at Mad Oak Studios in Allston, Massachusetts. It was the first album where three band members sang lead vocals, and was also the first to include keyboards and synthesizers. During production, the power was knocked out to the studio, and the Boston Blackout occurred. The track, "Getaway", was featured on the final season of MTV's Jersey Shore. The band supported the album by performing at South by Southwest.
Slow Recovery is the fourth release from Peter Baldrachi. After a long break between albums, Baldrachi released four singles beginning in 2015 and an EP in 2019. Slow Recovery was recorded by Craig Welsch, mixed by Benny Grotto, and mastered by Joe Lambert. The album features performances from Duke Levine, Dave Mattacks (Fairport Convention, Paul McCartney, Brad Hallen, and Milt Reder among many other Boston musicians. The album has received positive reviews with The Big Takeover calling it “his most affecting work to date” and Power Pop Station describing it as “brilliant and beautiful.” The title track was released as a single in January 2020.
