Another Animal was an American rock supergroup formed by members of Godsmack, Ugly Kid Joe, and Dropbox.
During the writing sessions of IV by Godsmack, lead singer Sully Erna encountered writer's block so Tony Rombola, Shannon Larkin, and Robbie Merrill went to the studio and recorded music. [1] After writing almost 40 songs, only 14 were used (two being bonus songs). The left-over songs were then recycled by the members after they recruited Whitfield Crane of Ugly Kid Joe and Another Animal was born. [2] Soon joining the band was friend and former Godsmack and Dropbox guitarist Lee Richards. The band released its self titled debut album in 2007 and first single "Broken Again" reached No. 8 on the U.S. Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart. To support their debut album, Another Animal opened for Alter Bridge on tour in late 2007.
Another Animal is part of the stable of artists who have recorded at Rocking Horse Studio in Pittsfield, New Hampshire.
Another Animal released a single titled "Fall of Rome". The track is produced by Dave Fortman. Drummer Shannon Larkin mentioned that if the single is a success they will make a new album, a follow-up to their self-titled debut album of 2007. He said "If the song does well enough at radio, we will tour in the fall and make a new record as well." Obviously the band had not reached its goal.

William Whitfield Crane IV is an American singer and founding member and lead vocalist of the rock band Ugly Kid Joe, which was formed in 1989. Menace to Sobriety is the second studio album by American rock band Ugly Kid Joe. It was released in 1995 through Mercury Records. The album title is an allusion to the movie Menace II Society. It peaked at No. 25 on the UK Albums Chart. "Milkman's Son", "Tomorrow's World" and "Cloudy Skies" were released as singles. He is the guitarist for rock band Ugly Kid Joe, and has worked with bands including Superjoint Ritual, Snot, Atomship, Eyehategod, Mudvayne, Otep, Slipknot, and Simple Plan. He also worked on both of Evanescence's multi-platinum selling albums The Open Door and Fallen.
Changes is a documentary and live DVD released in September 2004 by American rock band Godsmack. The DVD was recorded in early 2004. That same month, the group also released "Batalla de los Tambores", a drum duel between Shannon Larkin and Sully Erna, available exclusively via online services such as Apple's iTunes Music Store, Real, Napster, and the Zune Marketplace. The DVD has been certified Gold by the RIAA, with access sales of 50,000 copies in the United States.
