Madison D. Sheahan [2] (born February 9,1997) is an American government official serving as the current deputy director of U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) since March 9,2025. [3]
Madison Dean Sheahan was born to Laura (Lafferty) and Roger Sheahan on February 9,1997. She grew up with her brother,Dakota on their horse farm in Curtice,Ohio. [4] Sheahan attended Genoa Area High School where she played soccer,basketball and ran track. She also participated as an officer in the Genoa Penta FFA Chapter. Sheahan graduated in 2015. [4]
Sheahan attended Ohio State University from 2016 through 2019. Her freshman year Sheahan was elected as Vice President at Large for the Ohio FFA chapter. While at OSU she was a member of the Women's Rowing Team which won two Big Ten Championship titles. During her time at Ohio State,Sheahan helped develop a program for leadership in athletics called Lead Like a Buckeye. Sheahan graduated from Ohio State University in 2019,with a bachelor's in public affairs,public management,leadership,and policy and agri-business with minors in community and business leadership. She worked with then-Governor Kristi Noem as her Political Director from February 2021 to January 2024. [4] She was also the executive director of the South Dakota Republican Party from January 2023 to January 2024. [3]
She was the Secretary of the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries under Governor Jeff Landry from January 2024 until March 2025. [3] [6] During this time she created a Special Operations Group to assist enforcement efforts during events like Mardi Gras and the Super Bowl,partnering with the Louisiana State Police. [2] This Special Operations Group responded during the 2025 New Orleans truck attack. [2]
In March 2025,Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem announced that Sheahan would be the deputy director of ICE. [3]
