Magic Recoveries is the third album from Finnish post-hardcore band Disco Ensemble. The album was released on 7 May 2008 in Finland and went straight to the first place of the album chart. [1] [2]

Contents

The recording began in late November 2007 and was finished by the middle of January 2008. While recording the album, the band posted up seven video diaries, to keep the fans informed about the upcoming album and its recording. [3]

"Bad Luck Charm" and "Headphones" were both released as singles.

Slippery When Wet is the third studio album by American rock band Bon Jovi. It was released on August 18, 1986 by Mercury Records in North America and Vertigo Records internationally. It was produced by Bruce Fairbairn, with recording sessions between January and July 1986 at Little Mountain Sound Studios in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The Black Crowes American rock band

The Black Crowes are an American rock band formed in Marietta, Georgia, in 1984. Their discography includes eight studio albums, four live albums and several charting singles. The band was signed to Def American Recordings in 1989 by producer George Drakoulias and released their debut album, Shake Your Money Maker, the following year. Their follow-up, The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion, reached the top of the Billboard 200 in 1992. Meteora is the second studio album by American rock band Linkin Park. It was released on March 25, 2003 through Warner Bros. Records, following Reanimation, a collaboration album which featured remixes of songs included on their 2000 debut studio album Hybrid Theory. The album was produced by the band alongside Don Gilmore. The title Meteora is taken from the Greek Orthodox monasteries originally bearing the name. Meteora has a similar sound to Hybrid Theory, as described by critics, and the album took almost a year to be recorded. It is the first Linkin Park studio album to feature bassist Dave Farrell after he rejoined the band in 2000.

HIM (Finnish band) Finnish gothic rock band

HIM was a Finnish gothic rock band from Helsinki. Formed in 1991 by vocalist Ville Valo and bassist Mikko "Mige" Paananen under the name His Infernal Majesty, the band broke up in 1993, before being reformed in 1995 by Valo and guitarist Mikko "Linde" Lindström. After being rejoined by Mige, as well as new additions keyboardist Antto Melasniemi and drummer Juhana "Pätkä" Rantala, the band, now called HIM, released their debut album Greatest Lovesongs Vol. 666 in 1997. In 2000, now with drummer Mika "Gas Lipstick" Karppinen and keyboardist Juska Salminen, the band released the album Razorblade Romance, which reached the number one spot in Finland, Austria and Germany. Their first single, "Join Me in Death", also charted at number one in Finland and Germany, eventually going platinum and gold respectively. Following the addition of Janne "Burton" Puurtinen on keyboards, HIM released Deep Shadows and Brilliant Highlights and Love Metal in 2001 and 2003 respectively. Both cracked the top ten in several countries, and allowed the band to tour the United Kingdom and the United States for the first time.

Significant Other is the second studio album by American rap rock band Limp Bizkit, released on June 22, 1999 by Flip and Interscope Records. It saw the band expand their sound from that of their 1997 debut Three Dollar Bill, Y'all to incorporate further metal and hip hop influences.

The Aliens are a Scottish band consisting of former Beta Band members Gordon Anderson, John Maclean and Robin Jones. They have two albums, two EP's and a number of singles. Their debut album, Astronomy for Dogs charted at #46 in the UK Album Chart in 2007.

The Boxer 1969 Simon and Garfunkel song

"The Boxer" is a song recorded by the American music duo Simon & Garfunkel from their fifth studio album, Bridge over Troubled Water (1970). Produced by the duo and Roy Halee, it was released as a standalone single on March 21, 1969, but included on the album nine months later. The song, written by Paul Simon, is a folk rock ballad that variously takes the form of a first-person lament as well as a third-person sketch of a boxer. The lyrics are largely autobiographical and partially inspired by the Bible, and were written during a time when Simon felt he was being unfairly criticized. The song's lyrics discuss poverty and loneliness. It is particularly known for its plaintive refrain, in which they sing 'lie-la-lie', accompanied by a heavily reverbed snare drum.

<i>Guerilla Disco</i> 2004 studio album by Quarashi

Guerilla Disco is the first album from Quarashi with new rapper Tiny. The album was originally going to be called Payback, but was later changed to Guerilla Disco, the name of an older Quarashi instrumental. This is the fifth and final studio album before the band's breakup on 5 August 2005.

Ryan Ross American guitarist

George Ryan Ross III is an American musician, singer, and songwriter best known for his work as the lead guitarist and primary songwriter of the band Panic! at the Disco before his departure in 2009. Ross and former Panic! bassist Jon Walker formed The Young Veins the same year, in which Ross is the lead vocalist. They broke up in 2010.

Spencer Smith (musician)

Spencer James Smith is an American talent agent and former musician and songwriter. He is best known as a co-founding member and the former drummer of the rock band Panic! at the Disco. He recorded four studio albums with the band: A Fever You Can't Sweat Out (2005), Pretty. Odd. (2008), Vices & Virtues (2011), and Too Weird to Live, Too Rare to Die! (2013). The band's debut album went triple platinum and charted at No. 13 on the US Billboard 200, spearheaded by the hit single "I Write Sins Not Tragedies", which peaked at No. 7 in the Billboard Hot 100.

Disco Ensemble is a Finnish post-hardcore/alternative rock band, originating from the small town of Ulvila. They've been noted for their energetic sound and rhythm, original guitar riffs and electronic synthesizer sounds.

<i>First Aid Kit</i> (album) 2005 studio album by Disco Ensemble

First Aid Kit is the second full-length studio album by Disco Ensemble, originally released in 2005 in Finland by Fullsteam Records. In 2006 it was reissued as a worldwide release by Universal Music Group. Four songs were rerecorded for this reissue and it also included one additional track, "Eyes of a Ghost" from the Black Euro CD single. A Japanese version was also released which included five bonus tracks. A further version was released with a fold out cardboard case and a bonus DVD including the music videos 'Black Euro' 1 & 2, 'We Might Fall Apart' and the original video for 'Drop Dead, Casanova'. Also, it had 4 live videos from their Tavastia gig on 24 March 2006.

Mr. Mean is the 13th album by the Ohio Players, and the 7th album recorded for Mercury. The band's roster grew, this time from eight to nine members with the entrance of Robert "C.D." Jones on congas.

beFour

beFour was a German pop group founded in Cologne. The members were cast for the television show beFour: Das Star-Tagebuch, which was broadcast daily at 14:20 for three months. The first single "Magic Melody" is a cover version of the song "Around The World" by ATC, whose have some different lyrics, and based in the song "Pesenka", originally performed by the Russian band Ruki Vverh! in 1998. The single "No Limit" is a remake of the same song by 2 Unlimited.

<i>Pretty. Odd.</i> 2008 studio album by Panic at the Disco

Pretty. Odd. is the second studio album by American pop rock band Panic! at the Disco. Recorded at the Studio at the Palms in Paradise, Nevada with additional production at Abbey Road Studios in London with producer Rob Mathes, the album was released March 21, 2008 on Decaydance and Fueled by Ramen. Inspired by baroque pop and the works of The Beatles and The Beach Boys, the psychedelic-styled rock album differs greatly from the techno-influenced pop punk of A Fever You Can't Sweat Out (2005).

Iconcrash is an electrorock/darkwave band from Helsinki, Finland, formed by vocalist composer Jaani Peuhu. Now the band members include Arttu Juntunen, keyboard and backup vocals, Riku-Niilo Mattila bass, Matti Toivonen, guitar and Oskari Vilmunen, drums. The English-Finnish record company Parole Records published their debut album Nude in spring 2005, after which the live band was assembled.

<i>Big Bad World</i> 2008 studio album by Plain White Ts

Big Bad World is the fifth studio album by American rock band Plain White T's. It was released on September 23, 2008, by Hollywood Records. The creation of this album was a follow up album to Every Second Counts in hopes of breaking free from being the "Hey There Delilah" Band. To promote the album, the Plain White T's launched a few webisodes, which together form the series Meet Me in California. The majority of the album was written while on the road, in planes, in hotels, and on buses.

"Bad Luck Charm" is the first single released from the album, Magic Recoveries, by post-hardcore Finnish band, Disco Ensemble. It was released in Finland on 20 May 2008, reaching number seven in the Finnish singles chart.

<i>The Island of Disco Ensemble</i> 2010 studio album by Disco Ensemble

The Island of Disco Ensemble is the fourth studio album from Finnish post-hardcore band Disco Ensemble. On February 9, 2010, the band started their weekly video diary which showed what they were doing while creating the album. The album was released worldwide on the 26 May 2010. The album leans further towards electronica elements the band have been known to use as a regular addition to their sound, while maintaining their punk-rock, guitar-based songwriting formula and characteristic lyrics, seen particularly in previous two studio albums, First Aid Kit and Magic Recoveries.
