The vessel was built at the shipyard of Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering under yard number 4255. The vessel is owned and operated by the Danish international shipping company Maersk Line, which is the largest operator of container ships in the world. Magleby Maersk has a capacity of 18,270 TEU.

Design

Ebba Mærsk is a container ship owned by the Danish shipping company A. P. Moller-Maersk Group. She is the fifth of the Mærsk E-class, and at the time of delivery she and her seven sister ships were among the largest container ships ever built. She has a total TEU capacity of 11,000 TEU 14-ton containers by Mærsk definition; however, with standard ratings she can hold 14,770 containers. This rating goes by physical space rather than weight. Eugen Maersk is a container ship owned by the Danish shipping company Maersk. The eighth and newest of the Mærsk E-class, built in 2008, she and her seven sister ships are among the largest container ships ever built. She has a total TEU capacity of 11,000 TEU containers; however, with other ratings she can hold 13,500 containers. This rating goes by physical space rather than weight. Her beam is 183 feet (56 m), her length 1,302 feet (397 m), and she has a deadweight tonnage of 156,907.

<i>Eleonora Mærsk</i>

Eleonora Mærsk is one of the world's largest container ships operated by A. P. Moller and registered to Svendborg, Denmark. It was constructed in 2006 at the Odense Steel Shipyard. There are seven other identical sister ships in the A. P. Moller fleet. Eleonora Mærsk and the other seven ships of the E class are among the biggest ever built.

<i>Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller</i> (ship) Triple E class container ship

Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller is the lead ship of Maersk Line's Triple E class of container vessels. At the time of its entry into service in 2013, it had the largest cargo capacity in twenty-foot equivalent unit (TEU) of any vessel, and was the longest container ship in service worldwide. Constructed for Maersk by Daewoo Shipbuilding & Marine Engineering (DSME) of South Korea, it was launched in February 2013 and entered operational service in July 2013. It was named for Mærsk Mc-Kinney Møller, the CEO of Maersk from 1965 to 1993. The ship is the first of a class of 20 identical vessels.

MV Hansa Brandenburg was a 2002-built Liberian-flagged container ship operated by the German shipping company Leonhardt & Blumberg. On July 15, 2013, one of the containers on board the vessel caught fire forcing the crew of 17 to abandon ship about 200 nautical miles northeast of Mauritius.

Madison Maersk is one of the largest very large container vessels (VLCV) in the world. The ship was ordered together with her sister ships Magleby Maersk, Maribo Maersk, Marstal Maersk, Matz Maersk and Mayview Maersk. With improved architecture and more powerful engineering and propulsion system, the ship achieves better dynamic characteristics and lower fuel consumption. The ship has capacity for 18,270 TEU and is accommodated with 1800 reefer plugs.

<i>MSC Oliver</i>

MSC Oliver is one of the largest container vessels in the world, together with her sister ships MSC Oscar, MSC Zoe, MSC Maya and MSC Sveva. The vessel was delivered in March 2015 by Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering. According to the official statement of the CEO of Mediterranean Shipping Company, the ships are part from a bulk order for 20 vessels with same size, which will be used for cost optimizations of the company. With the new ships, the management of MSC are trying to fight the low freight rates and increased capacities of shipping.

<i>CMA CGM Kerguelen</i> South Korea-built Anglo-French cargo ship

CMA CGM Kerguelen is a 17,722 TEU very large UK flagged Explorer class container ship owned by the French shipping company CMA CGM. As of August 2015, it was the largest container ship in the fleet of CMA CGM. The ship is named for French-Breton naval officer and explorer Yves-Joseph de Kerguelen-Trémarec. The Captain of the Ship is Captain Lester John Miole MM.

<i>MSC Maya</i>

MSC Maya is one of the world's largest container ships, built in 2015. The cargo ship has capacity for 19,224 TEU.
