Adam Joseph van Koeverden is a Canadian sprint kayaker and politician. He is an Olympic gold medallist in the K-1 500m category (2004) and a two-time world champion in K-1 500 (2007) and K-1 1000 (2011), winning four Olympic and eight world championship medals. His home club is the Burloak Canoe Club in Oakville, Ontario.

This makes the narrower boats much faster and popular when it comes to racing.
Ian Mortimer is a Canadian sprint canoer who has competed in the World Canoe Championships and trains with the sprint canoe national team of Canada. Mortimer is a member of the Rideau Canoe Club in Ottawa, Ontario, along with his brother Angus, who is also a national team member, but in kayaking.
The ICF Canoe Sprint World Championships are an international event in canoe racing, one of two Summer Olympic sport events organized by the International Canoe Federation. The ICF Canoe Slalom World Championships are an international event in canoeing organized by the International Canoe Federation. The World Championships have taken place every year in non-Summer Olympic years since 2002. From 1949 to 1999, they had taken place in odd-numbered years. The 2001 championships were scheduled to take place in Ducktown, Tennessee from 20 to 23 September, but were canceled in the wake of the September 11 attacks.
Fiona Pennie is a British slalom canoeist who has competed internationally since 1997. She lives in Waltham Abbey in Essex.
Liam Heath is a British sprint canoeist. He was a gold medalist in the individual 200m kayak sprint event, and a silver in the men's double with Jon Schofield at the 2016 Summer Olympics. He is the most successful British canoeist at the Olympics, with an additional a bronze at the 2012 London Olympics in the K-2 200 with Schofield.
Martin Kolanda is a Czech sprint and marathon canoeist who competed in canoe sprint and marathon on international level in years 1995–2007. Competing at several World Marathon Championships he won one silver medal on K2 in Stockton-on-Tees 2001.
Jon Schofield is a British canoeist. He partnered with Liam Heath in the men's kayak double 200m sprint event, and they have won a bronze in K-2 200 at the 2012 Summer Olympics, and a silver at the 2016 Summer Olympics in the same event. They have also won gold at the European Championships three times as well as silver and bronze medals at the World Championships.
Joseph Clarke, is a British slalom canoeist who has competed at the international level since 2009, specializing in the K1 event. He is the 2016 Olympic champion in the K1 event and has won medals in team events at World and European Championships.
Dylan Littlehales is an Australian paracanoeist. He competed for Australia at the 2016 Rio Paralympics.

Sophia Jensen is a Canadian sprint canoeist. She has been a member of the Canoe Kayak Canada sprint national team since 2017. Jensen is considered to be an important figure in women's sprint canoe worldwide and, in 2019, she was named National Female Athlete of the Year at the Sports Québec annual gala.
