Sepedi, formerly called Sesotho sa Lebowa as an official language for the Lebowa homeland during apartheid, is a Sotho-Tswana language group spoken in the northeastern provinces of South Africa. It is commonly referred to in its standardized form as Pedi or Sepedi and holds the status of an official language in South Africa.

Middle Letaba Dam is an earth-fill type dam located on the Middle Letaba River, 40 km east of Elim and 40 km west of Giyani, Limpopo, South Africa. The source of the Middle Letaba river rises high in the tropical mountains of Magoebaskloof near Tzaneen, where rainfall is abundant during the summer months. The river passes numerous villages and its flow becomes quite strong when it reaches the village of Magoro.

Mankweng or Turfloop is also the de facto name for the neighbourhoods surrounding the township and the university, though relatively small to the likes of Grahamstown. It is located about 27 km east of Polokwane on the R71 road to Moria and Tzaneen.

It has 7 official villages namely Rhulani (capital), Hovheni, Nsolani, Nyanyukani, Bordex (Bodweni) divided into two (Bodweni) yaka Regison Mbangwa Mohlaba and Bodweni yaka Brown Mohlaba (braweni), Hweji. The areas nearer to Julesburg are Mogapeng, Tours, Ofcolaco, Callies and Burgersdorp.
Chief (Kgoshi) Mamphoku Makgoba was a Northern Sotho Chief who ruled Makgobaskloof in the Soutpansberg, former Northern Transvaal, Mopani district, South Africa. His tribal totem is the Tlou of BaTlou tribe.
