Maharagni: Queen of Queens is an upcoming Indian Hindi-language action thriller film directed by Charan Tej Uppalapati in his directorial debut. It stars Kajol in the title role, along with Prabhu Deva, Naseeruddin Shah, Samyuktha Menon, and Jisshu Sengupta. [2] It also stars Aditya Seal, Pramod Pathak, and Chhaya Kadam. It will also be released in Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
The action thriller film reunites Kajol and Prabhu Deva after nearly 3 decades, last seen together in Rajiv Menon’s Minsara Kanavu (1997), that was dubbed and released in Hindi as Sapnay. [3] The film marks a comeback to acting for Prabhu Deva after several directorial ventures. The film's first schedule is complete and the official teaser was released on 28 May 2024. [4]
The film is a revenge drama about Maya (Kajol), a woman on a vengeful mission. [5] The film sees Kajol in a never-before-seen action avatar and has a tagline 'POWER MAANGE KE NAHI, CHEEN KE LEE JAATI HAI' meaning "Power is not demanded, it is taken away." [6] [7]
Minsara Kanavu is a 1997 Indian Tamil-language musical romantic comedy film that was co-written and directed by Rajiv Menon. The film stars Arvind Swamy, Prabhu Deva, and Kajol in her Tamil debut, and revolves around Priya (Kajol), a convent student who wants to become a nun. Having returned to India from his studies overseas, Thomas (Swamy)—Priya's childhood friend—falls in love with her following their first meeting at her convent. Arvind Swamy is an Indian actor, film director and entrepreneur known for his work in Tamil cinema and a few Hindi cinema, Telugu cinema and Malayalam cinema. Prabhu Deva is an Indian dance choreographer, film director, producer and actor who has worked predominantly in Tamil, Hindi and Telugu language films. In a career spanning 32 years, he has performed and designed dancing styles and has garnered two National Film Awards for Best Choreography. In 2019, he was awarded the Padma Shri for his contributions to dance.
