Maharani College is a girls college in the city of Jaipur, in the state of Rajasthan. The college was established in 1944 and is one of six constituent colleges of University of Rajasthan. [1] It was established on the name of Maharani Gayatri Devi.

Maharani Kishori was the wife of Maharaja Suraj Mal of Bharatpur in Rajasthan, India. She was from Hodal, a town in the modern day Palwal district of Haryana, near Mathura and Bharatpur. The house her husband built for her in Bharatpur is now a monument protected by the government of Rajasthan.

Ghoomar or ghumar is a traditional folk dance of Rajasthan. It was the Bhil tribe who performed it to worship Goddess Saraswati which was later embraced by other Rajasthani communities. The dance is chiefly performed by veiled women who wear flowing dresses called ghaghara. The dance typically involves performers pirouetting while moving in and out of a wide circle. The word ghoomna describes the twirling movement of the dancers and is the basis of the word ghoomar.

Varsha Soni was a member of the Indian Women's Hockey Team. She was raised in Jaipur, Rajasthan and is the youngest of 7 sisters and 1 brother. She studied at University Maharani College, University of Rajasthan, Jaipur. She started her career in Field Hockey at an early age and eventually made it onto the Indian national team where she represented India at the 1980 Summer Olympics and the 1982 Asian Games. She worked for the Indian Railways in Jaipur and is also a recipient of the Arjuna Award.

University Maharaja's College is a college in Jaipur, the capital of the Rajasthan state in India. Established in 1844 by Sawai Ram Singh II, it has been affiliated with University of Rajasthan since 1947. Maharaja college offers course on campus in Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Bachelor of Computer Application (B.C.A) at Undergraduate (U.G.) level. The college was granted the status of "college with potential excellence" by UGC in 2011.
