Mahendra Prakash Singh Bhogta was twice the state legislative assembly member from Chatra from 1985 to 1995. He was a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. [1] [2]

He was from Bhogta community. [3] Later his son Jay Prakash Singh Bhogta became MLA. [4] He died due to heart attack in 1997 by witnessing 10 dead Maoists of Communist Party of India (Marxist–Leninist) killed by Maoist of Maoist Communist Centre of India. [5]

The Naxalite–Maoist insurgency, officially referred to as the Left Wing Extremism (LWE), is an ongoing conflict between Maoist groups known as Naxalites or Naxals and the Indian government. His father Mahendra Prakash Singh Bhogta was MLA of Chatra. His father Mahendra Prakash Singh Bhogta was former MLA from Chatra.

Satyanand Bhogta is an Indian Politician and a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal political party. He is the current cabinet minister for ministry of Labour Resources in Government of Jharkhand and a member of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from Chatra constituency.

Ganesh Ganjhu was the member of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from Simaria. In the 2014 general election, he was elected as MLA of Simaria as Jharkhand Vikas Morcha (Prajatantrik) candidate. In February 2015, he switched sides and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party with other five MLA's including Randhir Kumar Singh, Amar Kumar Bauri, Janki Prasad Yadav, Alok Kumar Chourasia and Navin Jaiswal from JVM(P).

The Tritiya Prastuti Committee (TPC) is a splinter group of the Maoist Communist Centre of India. TPC has declared Communist Party of India (Maoist) as its main enemy not police machinery. The area of influence of TPC are in Chatra, Palamu and Latehar district of Jharkhand. TPC is rival of other Maoist outfits.

The UPA-Left Coordination Committee was a platform dedicated to coordinate policy discussions between the Indian National Congress and the parliamentary left-wing parties during the UPA I cabinet governing India 2004–2009. During this period the parliamentary left parties were providing outside support to the government, without being part of the governing coalition as such.
