The Makati Life Medical Center is a private tertiary hospital located in Makati, Metro Manila, Philippines.

History

The Makati Life Medical Center, formerly known as the Ospital ng Makati 2 (OsMak2), [1] was built to mainly serve residents of Makati in the first district. It is meant to complement the Ospital ng Makati in the second district. [2]

The construction of the Makati Life Medical Center was funded under a public-private partnership between the Makati city government and private firm LifeNurture Inc. [3] The joint venture was finalized in April 2021. [1]

The hospital project costed around ₱9.77-billion. [3] ₱5 billion of the funding came from syndicated loans from the Development Bank of the Philippines, Land Bank and Union Bank. [1] [4]

On May 8, 2023, [5] the health facility was formally opened with the start of operations of the outpatient department. The hospital is projected to be fully operational by early 2024. [3]

Facilities

The Makati Life Medical Center is a consortium between the Makati city government and LifeNurture. Makati Life itself is a fully private tertiary hospital. [6] The hospital is designed to accommodate 360 beds and 190 doctor's clinics. [7]

Century City is a 3.4-hectare (8.4-acre) mixed-use development in Makati, Philippines being developed by Century Properties. Several of the Philippines' upscale and tallest buildings, namely The Gramercy Residences, The Milano Residences, The Knightsbridge Residences, and Trump Tower Manila are located here, as well as the 17,000-square-meter (180,000 sq ft) Century City Mall. Once completed, the ₱40 billion Century City complex will comprise an office building for business process outsourcing and corporate companies, four luxury residential towers, a mixed-use building, a mall, and an IT Hospital.

The Makati Intra-city Subway or (MkTr) is an under-construction underground rapid transit line to be located in Makati, Metro Manila, that will link establishments across the city's business district. It will be built under a public-private partnership program between the Makati City Government and a private consortium, led by Philippine Infradev Holdings. Proponents of the subway are expected to begin construction by December 2018, and Makati Mayor Abigail Binay projects completion by 2025. The subway will cost $2.5 billion and is expected to accommodate 700,000 passengers daily. It will also have nine stations, with connections to the existing MRT Line 3, Pasig River Ferry Service, and the under-construction Metro Manila Subway.
