Make is a cloud-based software platform for creating automation scenarios. Users can connect independent online services through a graphical interface without the need for programming. [1] Integration is carried out through application programming interfaces (APIs). [2]
Its features include real-time data processing, information transfer between applications, and the use of artificial intelligence tools, including machine learning and so-called AI agents. [1] [3]
In 2021, the platform was used by more than half a million users worldwide. [4]
The platform was founded in 2013 in Prague as a project of the then company Cloud Service. [5] [6] [7] It was established by six Czech entrepreneurs: Patrik Šimek (CTO), Ondřej Gazda (President), Roman Bršlica (Partner), Tomáš Schel, Michal Toman, and Pavel Duras. [8] [9]
In October 2015, Cloud Service was renamed Integromat. Under this name, in May 2016, the platform for visual automation and integration of online services was launched. [10] In the same year, a subscription-based business model was introduced. [11]
In 2020, Integromat was acquired by the German company Celonis for approximately 2.5 billion Czech crowns (around 100 million US dollars). Celonis specializes in process mining and enterprise process management. [12] [13] [9]
After the acquisition by Celonis in 2022, Integromat was rebranded to Make. [14] Even after the acquisition, the Make platform retained its own development team based in Prague. [15] Fabian Veit was appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer (CEO) to lead the Make team. [16] [17] In the same year, the number of employees increased to approximately 190, while in 2021 the company had recorded 77. [9]
Make operates as a visual automation platform that does not require coding. [18] [1] It connects different systems and enables the creation of workflows through a graphical interface. [19]
Automations are built using so-called “scenarios”, which consist of triggers and subsequent actions that respond to changes in applications or services. [18] The platform allows connections to more than 2,000 applications through its app directory and supports data exchange via APIs. [3]
In 2024, the platform expanded its functionality with the visualization tool Make Grid, which displays running scenarios in real time. [20]
In April 2025, the Make platform introduced the Make AI Agents feature, which enables the creation of agents that use natural language processing, real-time request evaluation, and operation with predefined scenarios. [21] [22] [4]
At the Waves ’25 conference in Munich, Make announced several platform updates, including the introduction of the Model Context Protocol (MCP), which standardizes how AI systems discover and use tools. The Make MCP Server allows Make automations (scenarios) to function as tools that AI systems can execute with defined inputs and outputs, while the Make MCP Client enables scenarios to securely call tools hosted on external MCP servers. [23]
Make also introduced Maia, an AI-powered builder designed to create automations and workflows through natural language interaction. The company also announced updates such as next-generation AI Agents, which allow users to build and monitor agents within the visual builder, along with new development tools including Scenario Run Replay, Subscenarios, and Scenario Sharing. [23] [24]
Some independent reviews mention that the platform can be more challenging for certain users, especially when configuring more complex automations or advanced workflows. [25]
The platform is used by various types of users, including individuals, small businesses, and international companies. According to the Lupa.cz website, companies such as Uber, Cisco, and Adidas use the platform. [19] [4]
In 2016, Integromat was awarded in the regional round of the international startup competition Get in the Ring in Budapest and advanced to the global finals. The competition focuses on innovative business solutions in the field of technology. [26]
In 2020, Integromat was included in Gartner’s analytical report titled Cool Vendors in Business Process Automation, which highlights innovative tools in the field of business process automation. [27]
In 2024, the Make platform was included in the European LETS 2024 [28] ranking among nineteen Czech technology companies with rapid growth (so-called scale-ups). As a result, the Czech Republic ranked among the five most represented countries in Europe. [29]
