Kung Fu Panda is a 2008 American animated martial arts comedy film produced by DreamWorks Animation and distributed by Paramount Pictures. The first installment in the Kung Fu Panda franchise, it was directed by John Stevenson and Mark Osborne in their feature directorial debuts, and written by Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger from a story by Ethan Reiff and Cyrus Voris. Leslee Feldman is the Head of Casting at Amblin Partners and is the former Head of Casting at DreamWorks, the studio which produced such films as Shrek, The Prince of Egypt, Road to Perdition, Old School, and Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, among others. Feldman's old DreamWorks position is currently held by her former colleague Christi Soper Hilt. This change came soon after NBCUniversal acquired DreamWorks in 2016.

Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness is an American animated television comedy series spin off from DreamWorks's Kung Fu Panda films. It serves as a bridge between the first and second films, showing Po's training to becoming a successful Dragon Warrior, whereas the second series is, according to the series' developer Peter Hastings, "not unlike a very long, super-deluxe 3-D version of one of our episodes".

Kung Fu Panda: Legends of Awesomeness's first season airing between September 19, 2011 and 2012. The first episode "Scorpion's Sting" aired on September 19, 2011 as a sneak preview followed by another episode "The Princess and the Po" aired on October 21, 2011 also as a sneak preview. The official premiere of the first season was on November 7, 2011. Animated by Nickelodeon Animation all episodes aired on Nickelodeon, like related show The Penguins of Madagascar but unlike other related show Dragons: Riders of Berk which airs on Cartoon Network. The season's first official episode averaged 3.1 million in its premiere, slightly behind SpongeBob SquarePants, one of the network's highest rating television series.

Nicolas "Nico" Marlet is a French-American animator and character designer employed by DreamWorks Animation. He is best known for his character design work on films in the Kung Fu Panda and How to Train Your Dragon franchises, as well as Disney television shows such as TaleSpin and DuckTales. He also worked on an unproduced animated version of Andrew Lloyd Webber's Cats at DreamWorks' predecessor studio, Amblimation. Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight is an American CG-animated streaming television series, developed by Mitch Watson and Peter Hastings for Netflix. It is the third TV series in the Kung Fu Panda franchise, following Kung Fu Panda: The Paws of Destiny. Produced by DreamWorks Animation Television, the series premiered on Netflix on July 14, 2022. A second season was released on January 12, 2023. A third and final season was released on September 7, 2023.
