Makowo [maˈkɔvɔ] (German : Melchertswalde)^[1] is a village in the administrative district of Gmina Iława, within Iława County, Warmian-Masurian Voivodeship, in northern Poland.^[2] It lies approximately 12 kilometres (7 mi) north-east of Iława and 57 km (35 mi) west of the regional capital Olsztyn.

German is a West Germanic language that is mainly spoken in Central Europe. It is also one of the three official languages of Luxembourg and a co-official language in the Opole Voivodeship in Poland. There are also strong similarities in vocabulary with Danish, Norwegian and Swedish, although those belong to the North Germanic group. German is the second most widely spoken Germanic language, after English.
