Maksim Kovshov (born 13 August 1991 in Kyiv, Ukraine) is a Ukrainian dressage rider. [1] He represented Ukraine at the 2014 World Equestrian Games, where he finished 19th with Ukrainian team in the team dressage and 88th in the individual dressage competitions.

In 2015, Kovshov competed at the European Championships in Aachen, where he placed 58th in the individual and 16th in the team competition. Two years later, in Gothenburg, he achieved his career-best championship results, finishing 56th in the individual competition and helping the Ukrainian team to the 15th-place result.

He is the grandson of Yuri Kovshov, the Olympic champion in team dressage and silver medalist in individual dressage at the 1980 Summer Olympics held in Moscow.

Rembrandt was a dark bay Westphalian gelding ridden for Germany by Nicole Uphoff in dressage competitions. Together, the pair won four Olympic gold medals, three gold and one silver World Equestrian Games medals, and numerous other international championships. Although known as a sensitive horse prone to spookiness, Rembrandt's elegance and expression in the ring allowed him to become one of the top horses in the sport of dressage.

Inessa Viktorovna Merkulova is a Russian Olympic dressage rider. She competed at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she placed 23rd in the individual competition aboard Trakehner Mister X. She went on to compete at the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo as well, during which she placed 12th in the team competition representing the Russian Olympic Committee, and 31st individually. Marcela Krinke-Susmelj is a Czech-born Swiss Olympics dressage rider. She participated at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, where she placed 24th in the individual competition.

Victoria "Vici" Max-Theurer is an Austrian Olympic dressage rider. Representing Austria, she has competed at four Olympic Games. Her best Olympic result is 8th place achieved in the team dressage competition in 2004, while her highest individual Olympic placement is 13th place from 2012.

The 200 quota places for equestrian at the 2020 Summer Olympics were divided between the three disciplines. The 2020 Olympics were postponed to 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Teams in each discipline consisted of three horse and rider pairs; any NOC that qualified a team also received 3 entries in the individual competition for that discipline. NOCs that did not qualify teams could earn one individual place in dressage and jumping, and up to two individual places in eventing, for a total of 15 entries in jumping and dressage and 20 for eventing. Teams qualify primarily through specific competitions, while individuals qualify through rankings. The host nation, Japan, automatically qualified a team in each discipline.

Henri Ruoste Finnish dressage rider

Henri Ruoste is a Finnish Olympic dressage rider. He competed at three European Championships, and competed at the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games.
