Malkhan Singh Rajpoot (born 1943 or 1947) is a former dacoit from Chambal region. During his heyday, he used to be known as Bandit King [1] or King of the Dacoits. [2]

Early life

In 1964, when Malkhan was first arrested by the police under the Arms Act, 1959. [3]

In 1982, Malkhan and his gang surrendered to then Chief Minister Of Madhya Pradesh Arjun Singh. At the time of his surrender, he had amassed a total of 94 police cases, including 18 cases of dacoity, 28 of kidnapping, 19 of attempt to murder and 17 cases of murder. [4]

In 2013, Malkhan Singh campaigned for Bharatiya Janata Party as a candidate from Bhind. [5] [6]

In 2019, he was a candidate for Pragatisheel Samajwadi Party (Lohiya) for Dhaurahra (Assembly constituency). [7] But, he lost that election. [8]

Prakash Chandra Sethi was an Indian National Congress politician who served as Minister of Home Affairs (1982–84) and as the 8th Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh (1972–75). In August 2014, Rana was sentenced to life imprisonment and a fine of ₹100,000 for Devi's assassination, as well as charges of conspiracy, after a 10-year trial.

Kachche Heere is a 1982 Bollywood Hindi action film directed by Narender Bedi, starring Feroz Khan, Reena Roy, Danny Denzongpa, Aruna Irani and Shakti Kapoor. The movie was produced by Netra Pal Singh and the music was composed by Rahul Dev Burman. The film was somewhat a sequel to the 1974 Blockbuster Khote Sikkay. The film had the same star cast and almost the exact story line. Among few changes were that Ranjeet was replaced by Shakti Kapoor. The film was released on 12 February 1982.

Chaudhary Rakesh Singh Chaturvedi Indian politician

Chaudhary Rakesh Singh Chaturvedi is an Indian politician of the Indian National Congress party from Madhya Pradesh. Hailing from the Chambal region, he has been a four-time Member of Legislative Assembly of the Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly from the Bhind constituency since 1990. Previously, he had served the 13th Madhya Pradesh Legislative Assembly as the deputy leader of the opposition and as the leader of the opposition. Prior to that, he was a minister in Chief Minister Digvijaya Singh's cabinet between 1998 and 2003.

Chambal (region)

The Chambal is a geographical and cultural region in north-central India. It lies along the Chambal and Yamuna river valleys, in southeastern Rajasthan, southwestern Uttar Pradesh and northern Madhya Pradesh. It is well-known for its badlands and extensive ravine systems, that have hosted an untold number of dacoits.

Mohar Singh was a former dacoit bandit turned political leader. He was one of the most dreaded dacoits of the Chambal valley in the 1960s. Singh had 315 cases against him, of which 85 were murder cases.

Chhavviram Singh Yadav was a dacoit from Uttar Pradesh. One of his most trusted fellows was Udaiveer Singh from the village Nasirpur, Ghiror, UP.
