Malta Enterprise

Malta Enterprise is the Maltese government's exclusive agency focused on attracting inward investment and supporting enterprise in Malta. Its role is to act as a single point of contact for all enterprise support in Malta and to provide cohesion to government policies and efforts relating to enterprise in the country.

The corporation came into being through the 2003 Malta Enterprise Act, [1] and the agency, which became operational in January 2004. It combined the functions of three separate government offices – the Malta Development Corporation, (an investment promotion agency), Malta External Trade Corporation (an import-export promotion agency) and the Institute for the Promotion of Small Enterprise (a small business support service) – into a single entity that now serves as the national representative for Malta’s commercial and financial endeavors. As the national economic development agency, Malta Enterprise develops support measures to create an environment conducive to the growth and development if enterprise in Malta, facilitates foreign investments, organises and hosts visiting business delegations and participates in global trade and business conferences. [4]

In May 2012 Lawrence Zammit, former Chairman of Malta Development Corporation and Air Malta, was appointed Chairman, whereas Sue Vella, former Chief Executive Officer of the Employment and Training Corporation, was named Chief Executive Office of Malta Enterprise.

In May 2013 Mario Vella, former Chief Executive Officer of the Malta Development Corporation, was appointed Chairman, whilst William Wait was named the deputy chairman. [5]

Once Mario Vella was appointed as Governor of the Central Bank of Malta in 2016, William Wait took over as chairman of Malta Enterprise.

He serves as chairman for Solarfi, a renewable energy company.

The Australian Trade and Investment Commission, or Austrade, is the Australian Government's trade, investment and education promotion agency which was also given responsibility for tourism policy, programs and research from 2013. Austrade was established under the Australian Trade Commission Act 1985. It is a non-corporate Commonwealth entity under the Public Governance, Performance and Accountability Act 2013, and a statutory agency under the Public Service Act 1999. Austrade is part of the Foreign Affairs and Trade portfolio.

Charles Elvan Cobb, Jr. is an American businessman. He is currently the chief executive officer and senior managing director of Cobb Partners, Ltd., an investment firm. Malta Environment and Planning Authority

The Malta Environment and Planning Authority was the national agency responsible for the environment and planning in Malta. It was established to regulate the environment and planning on the Maltese islands of Malta, Gozo and other small islets of the Maltese archipelago. MEPA was bound to follow the regulations of the Environment Protection Act (2001) and the Development Planning Act (1992) of the Laws of Malta. The Nigerian Investment Promotion Commission (NIPC) is a specialized agency of the Federal Government of Nigeria, established through the Nigerian Investment Promotion Act Chapter N117 of 2004. It is aimed at encouraging, promoting and coordinating all investments in Nigeria. The Federal Government of Nigeria, has tasked the investment promotion agency with attracting Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) over the years.
