Malu is a suburban town in Jiading District, a suburban district of Shanghai, China. Its population is about 51,000.
Due to its location, Malu Town has been able to excel in many industries such as electronics, fashion design, machinery, pharmaceuticals, and food production. Jinshan District, located in the southwest of Shanghai, is one of the biggest districts of the city. Local political administration is divided into nine towns and one subdistrict. About 6.2 kilometers (3.9 mi) off the coast of Jinshan, there are three islands named Dajinshan, Xiaojinshan, and Fushan. At 103 meters (338 ft) above sea level, the peak of Dajinshan Island is the highest point within the Shanghai municipality. There are several beaches along the 23.3-kilometer (14.5 mi) shoreline, which are popular tourism destinations.
Thames Town is a new town in Songjiang District, about 30 kilometres (19 mi) from central Shanghai. Completed in 2006, it is named after the River Thames, which flows through London, United Kingdom. The architecture is themed according to British market town styles. There are cobbled streets, Victorian terraces, corner shops and red telephone boxes. High house prices led to few permanent residents moving to the area, causing many of the shops and restaurants to close and the area to become known as a "ghost town".
Shanghai has around 2000 formal bus lines, served by more than 10 bus companies. In the past, Bashi, Dazhong, Guanzhong and Qiangsheng were the four largest; around 2009 they merged to become Bashi Group Companies, including Bashi No.1-6 Bus Passenger Service Companies, Bashi Tram, Bashi Xinxin and Chongming Company, Baoshan Company and Jinshan Company. Each Suburban district also renewed with one company serving each district. Around 2015, Bashi No.1 Passenger Service and Bashi Tram merged to be Bashi No.1 Company, Bashi No.2 Passenger Service became Bashi No.2 Company, Bashi No.3, No.4 Passenger Service merged to be Bashi No.3 Company, Bashi No.6 Passenger Service became Bashi No.4 Company, and Bashi No.5 Passenger Service and Baoshan Company became Bashi No.5 Company.
South Changjiang Road is a station on Shanghai Metro Line 3. It is part of the northern extension of that line from Jiangwan Town to North Jiangyang Road that opened on 18 December 2006. It later became an interchange station after the opening of Line 18 on 30 December 2021.
Line 17 of the Shanghai Metro, formerly known as the Qingpu line, is an east-west rapid transit line that runs between Hongqiao Railway Station in Minhang District and Oriental Land in Qingpu District. All stations are fully accessible. It is 35.3 kilometres (21.9 mi) in length with 13 stations. The line entered passenger trial operations on 30 December 2017.
Fengjing is a town in Jinshan District, Shanghai. An ancient water town, it also has a new town with a Canadian theme and an industrial zone. It is a centre for Jinshan peasant painting.
Luodian is a town in Baoshan District about 25 kilometres (16 mi) from central Shanghai, China. Luodian Old Town dates back to the Yuan Dynasty. Modern developments include Luodian Industrial Zone, and Luodian New Town, also known as North European New Town, which is a new town with a Nordic architectural theme. Luodian is a replica of Sigtuna.
Pujiang is a town in Minhang District, Shanghai, China. It contains Pujiang New Town, which is a new town with an Italian architectural theme, sometimes referred to as Città di Pujiang. It also contains Zhaojialou, an old water town which is undergoing restoration, Caohejing Pujiang Hi-Tech Park and Shanghai National Civil Aerospace Industrial Base.
Gaoqiao is a town in Pudong New Area in Shanghai, China. Gaoqiao Old Town dates back to the Southern Song dynasty. Gaoqiao New Town, also known as Holland Village or Holland Town, is a new town with a Dutch architectural theme.
Malu is a station on Line 11 of the Shanghai Metro. It opened on December 31, 2009.
Chenxiang Highway is a station on Line 11 of the Shanghai Metro in Shanghai, located between Nanxiang and Malu stations in the city's suburban Jiading District. It was conceived to be included with the first phase of Line 11 as Universal Park Station, dependent on the expansion program of the adjacent Shanghai Universal theme park. However, with the uncertainly in the viability of the park expansion project, reservations were made in Line 11's alignment to allow for the station to be added at a later date as an infill station while the rest of the Phase 1 opened in 2009. Shanghai Universal closed in 2000 due to financial issues and low patronage, leaving the new infill station unnecessary. Planned redevelopment of the Shanghai Universal lands into dense residential and commercial properties reintroduced the need for a metro station to serve the area. The start of the infill station project was approved in 2014 now as Chenxiang Highway station. Construction of the station started in 2018 and it was opened on August 25, 2020.
