Armando "Mandy" Romero (born October 29,1967) is an American former Major League Baseball catcher.
Drafted by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the 19th round of the 1988 MLB amateur draft,Romero would make his Major League Baseball debut with the San Diego Padres on July 15,1997,and appear in his final game during the 2003.
Romero is noted for his role as a replacement player during spring training prior to the 1995 Major League Baseball Strike. Replacement players took over for professional baseball players when the Major League Baseball Players Association went on strike. The strike was resolved at the end of spring training. Romero would return to Major League Baseball with the San Diego Padres in 1997,however,was blacklisted and not permitted to join the Major League Baseball Players Association.

Steven Allen Finley is an American former center fielder in Major League Baseball who played for eight teams between 1989 and 2007, most notably the Houston Astros, San Diego Padres, and Arizona Diamondbacks; he is one of only two players, along with Matt Herges, to play for all five National League West teams. Phillip Joseph Nevin is an American professional baseball player, coach, and manager. He was the manager for the Los Angeles Angels of Major League Baseball (MLB). He played in MLB for 12 seasons, appearing in 1,217 games played between 1995 and 2006 for the Houston Astros, Detroit Tigers, Anaheim Angels, San Diego Padres, Texas Rangers, Chicago Cubs and Minnesota Twins. He has previously served as a coach in MLB for the San Francisco Giants and New York Yankees.

The 1980 Montreal Expos season was the 12th season in franchise history. The Expos were tied with the division rival Philadelphia Phillies in the standings entering the final weekend of the 1980 season with a three game series set between the two clubs at Olympic Stadium. On October 4, with the Phillies holding a one-game lead in the standings, and with the score tied at four heading to the tenth, Mike Schmidt hit a blast deep into the seats in left field to give the Phillies a 6–4 lead and ultimate win to clinch the National League East. This was the Expos closest shot at making the postseason in their brief 12 year history.
