Mangesh Hadawale (born 2 September 1981 in Maharashtra, India) is an Indian film writer-director and ad-film maker. His first film Tingya (2008, Marathi) received huge commercial as well as critical acclaim. Dekh Indian Circus , his second film was in Hindi and has received many national and international awards.

Biography

Mangesh Hadawale was born in Rajuri village in Junnar, Maharashtra in a farming family. After completing his schooling in the Government Marathi School, Mangesh moved to Pune. In 2001 he completed graduation in theater from the Center for Performing Arts (also known as Lalit Kala Kendra.), University of Pune. He moved to Mumbai to pursue his passion of films and wrote his first script Tingya. It took him five years and 41 rejections to finally find a production house. Tingya went on to become a huge critical and commercial success.

After Tingya, Mangesh's next project in Hindi language Dekh Indian Circus was produced by Sundial Pictures. The film starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Tannishtha Chatterjee premiered at the 16th Busan Film Festival and won the prestigious PSB/KNN Audience Award. Dekh Indian Circus has won many national and international awards.

Mangesh is actively involved with creating multilingual ad and corporate films in the agricultural-rural sector. He has worked with brands like ICICI Bank, ICICI Lombard, MAHYCO, Bayer, UPL, Pesticides India, JU Agri Sciences and most recently Tropical Organic Agro Systems. He also directed Bill Gates Foundation's social awareness TVCs for Sutradhar Media & Communication PVT. LTD. and Pradeep Sarkar's Apocalypso Filmworks.

Mangesh made his foray into production with Tapaal, a Marathi film released in 2014. The film about a childless couple and a kid was written by Mangesh and directed by his close friend and cinematographer Laxman Utekar. He also served as a jury member at the 62nd National Film Awards, India in 2015. In 2016, an exclusive festival of his three films was held in four cities of USA.

While working on malaal, he wrote and directed Chalo Jeete Hain, a short film about a boy and his quest to find purpose of life. Film won National Award for Best Film on Family Values ...chalo jeete hain received unimaginable response and acclaim for a short film in India. The film premiered on ten channels of Star TV network simultaneously on 29 July 2018. Mangesh's 2019 directorial is titled Malaal which is being produced by Sanjay Leela Bhansali's SLB Films. [1]

Personal life

Mangesh continues to split his time between films and farming. On 18 April 2010, Mangesh married his childhood friend Vrushali in Rajuri. The couple have two sons. Mangesh enjoys being connected to his roots and has continued farming at his native place. He is also part of ventures Parashar Agri-tourism and Hachiko Tourism in Junnar.

Tingya is a 2008 Marathi-language movie. It is the directorial début of Mangesh Hadawale. The movie is based on a life of a rural boy and his love and friendship with his bull. It concentrates on the hardships faced by the farmers in the state of Maharashtra, India. Tingya was screened at the Pune International Film Festival where it won the Sant Tukaram award for Best Marathi Feature Film. It also won the best film award at Mumbai Academy of Movies Images on 14 March 2008. Child artist who played the role of the rural boy won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for the year 2008.

MTV India's Youth Icon of the year is an annual award presented by MTV India, a TV channel. It was first presented in 2003. It is determined by popular votes.

Paresh Mokashi is an Indian filmmaker, producer, actor and Theatre director-producer; working predominantly in Marathi cinema and Marathi theatre. He started working as a backstage worker for theatre and did few minor roles for plays as well as films. Mokashi made his directorial debut for theatre with the Marathi play, Sangeet Debuchya Mulee in 1999. He continued to work for theatre and made his directorial debut for cinema with the 2009 Marathi feature film, Harishchandrachi Factory. The film depicts the making of India's first full-length feature film, Raja Harishchandra (1913), made by Dadasaheb Phalke. The film was acclaimed critically and won several awards. <i>Kaksparsh</i> 2012 Indian film

Kaksparsh is a 2012 Indian Marathi period drama film directed by Mahesh Manjrekar and produced by Aniruddha Deshpande and Medha Manjrekar. The film stars Sachin Khedekar, Priya Bapat, Medha Manjrekar, Savita Malpekar and Ketaki Mategaonkar. Based on a short story by Usha Datar by the same name, the film depicts the tumultuous events in a Chitpavan Brahmin family, set around 1930–1950 in Konkan. The film was a commercial success and got critical acclaim for its direction, screenplay by Girish Joshi and also for the performances by its actors, especially Khedekar for his portrayal of Hari Damle as a head of the family.

Anand Abhyankar was an Indian Marathi film, television and theatre actor. He starred in films such as Spandan (2012), Balgandharva (2011), Matichya Chuli (2006), Vaastav (1999) and Jis Desh Mein Ganga Rehta Hain. On television, he is known for his roles in Mala Sasu Havi, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Fu Bai Fu, Avaghachi Sansar and Asambhav. Abhyankar died on 24 December 2012 in a car crash.

<i>Samhita</i> (film) 2013 Indian film by Sumitra Bhave–Sunil Sukthankar

Samhita: The Script is a 2013 Indian Marathi film directed by duo Sumitra Bhave—Sunil Sukthankar and produced by Mukta Arts in association with Ashokk Movies. The film stars Devika Daftardar, Milind Soman, and Rajeshwari Sachdev along with Uttara Baokar and Jyoti Subhash in supporting roles. The film had its theatrical release on 18 October 2013 and won several awards including two National Film Awards at the 60th National Film Awards; the Best Female Playback Singer for Arati Ankalikar-Tikekar and the Best Music Direction (Songs) for Shailendra Barve. The director-producer Subhash Ghai, the founder of Mukta Arts, was not initially part of the film and was approached when the director duo faced financial problems.

Sumitra Bhave and Sunil Sukthankar were an Indian filmmaker duo working predominantly in Marathi cinema and Marathi theatre. Bhave and Sukthankar had made seventeen feature films, more than fifty short films, and four TV serials; all of which had been written by Bhave. Sunil Sukthankar, a Film and Television Institute of India graduate (1989) is also an actor and a lyricist. He has written more than 90 songs for their own films as well as various other Marathi and Hindi films.
