Mannekensvere is a small rural village in Belgium, located in the Polder region. Mannekensvere is a part ("deelgemeente") of the seaside municipality of Middelkerke. The village is located along the Yser river.
Mannekensvere was an independent municipality until 1971, when it became a part of the newly formed municipality Spermalie. In 1977, Spermalie was dissolved, and Mannekensvere was added to Middelkerke.

On January 1, 2006, Middelkerke had a total population of 17,841. The total area is 75.65 km² which gives a population density of 236 inhabitants per km².
Nieuwpoort is a municipality located in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium, and in the Flemish province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the city of Nieuwpoort proper and the towns of Ramskapelle and Sint-Joris. On January 1, 2008, Nieuwpoort had a total population of 11,062. The total area is 31.00 km² which gives a population density of 350 inhabitants per km². The current mayor of Nieuwpoort is Geert Vanden Broucke (CD&V)

Ostend–Bruges International Airport, commonly known simply as Ostend Airport, is an international airport located 2.7 nautical miles south southwest of Ostend, West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium, near the coast and about 25 km (16 mi) from the city centre of Bruges. Petrovac is a municipality located in Republika Srpska, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated in the western part of Republika Srpska and the central part of the Krajina region. Petrovac was created from a small part of the pre-war municipality of Bosanski Petrovac, whose remaining portion kept the original name and is a part of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The municipality seat is the village of Drinić.

Taking part in and around the De Panne region of West Flanders, it began in Middelkerke on 27 March and will finish in De Panne two days later. The 544.5 km long stage race contains four stages, with two held on the final day. It is part of the 2012 UCI Europe Tour and is rated as a 2.HC event.
The Noordzeecross is a cyclo-cross race held in Middelkerke, Belgium with the first edition in 1959. Since the 2011 edition the race is a part of the Superprestige.
