Koekelare is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the towns of Bovekerke, Koekelare proper and Zande. On 1 January 2006 Koekelare had a total population of 8,291. The total area is 39.19 km² which gives a population density of 212 inhabitants per km².
Middelkerke is a municipality located in the Belgian province of West Flanders, on the North Sea, west of Ostend. The municipality comprises the villages of Leffinge, Lombardsijde, Mannekensvere, Middelkerke proper, Schore, Sint-Pieters-Kapelle, Slijpe, Westende and Wilskerke. On January 1, 2006, Middelkerke had a total population of 17,841. The total area is 75.65 km² which gives a population density of 236 inhabitants per km².
Nieuwpoort is a municipality located in Flanders, one of the three regions of Belgium, and in the Flemish province of West Flanders. The municipality comprises the city of Nieuwpoort proper and the towns of Ramskapelle and Sint-Joris. On January 1, 2008, Nieuwpoort had a total population of 11,062. The total area is 31.00 km² which gives a population density of 350 inhabitants per km². The current mayor of Nieuwpoort is Geert Vanden Broucke (CD&V)

Monteveglio is a village, or frazione, in the comune (municipality) of Valsamoggia. It is located about 20 kilometres (12 mi) west of Bologna, in the Italian region of Emilia-Romagna. Ostend–Bruges International Airport, commonly known simply as Ostend Airport, is an international airport located 2.7 nautical miles south southwest of Ostend, West Flanders in the Flemish Region of Belgium, near the coast and about 25 km (16 mi) from the city centre of Bruges. Petrovac is a municipality located in Republika Srpska, an entity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is situated in the western part of Republika Srpska and the central part of the Krajina region. Petrovac was created from a small part of the pre-war municipality of Bosanski Petrovac, whose remaining portion kept the original name and is a part of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The municipality seat is the village of Drinić.

The 544.5 km long stage race contains four stages, with two held on the final day. It is part of the 2012 UCI Europe Tour and is rated as a 2.HC event.
The Noordzeecross is a cyclo-cross race held in Middelkerke, Belgium with the first edition in 1959. Since the 2011 edition the race is a part of the Superprestige.
