The Manthan Award is an annual award for South Asia given in recognition of exceptional digital content creation. [1] [2] Nominations are accepted from the public and multiple awards are given in many categories. In 2011 The Hindu referred to the Manthan Award as "one of South Asia's biggest events in information and communications technology for development initiatives." [3] The award is issued by the Digital Empowerment Foundation and was partly inspired by the World Summit Award. It was created on 10 October 2004 and originally restricted to India, but in 2008 was expanded to include other South Asian nations. [2] [4]

Sreenath Sreenivasan

Sreenath "Sree" Sreenivasan is an academic and practitioner in journalism and communications, serving as the inaugural Marshall R. Loeb visiting professor at Stony Brook University School of Journalism in New York. He was previously chief digital officer at the Metropolitan Museum of Art and chief digital officer of Columbia University. Martin Percy is a director of interactive video. He has won a BAFTA British Academy Award, five Webby Awards and a Grand Clio;. He has also received three Emmy nominations, ten Webby nominations and fourteen Webby honorees.. He has created interactive video pieces for the Tate Gallery, Asian Art Museum of San Francisco, British Film Institute and National Theatre, working with people including Ian McKellen, Derek Jacobi, Gordon Ramsay, Julie Walters, Tracey Emin, Jonathan Ross and Malcolm McDowell. His interactive video pieces are integral to Tate Tracks, a marketing campaign for the Tate Gallery which won a Gold Lion at the Cannes Lions International Advertising Festival. His work is discussed in an interview with Betsy Isaacson for The Huffington Post. In 2014 he gave a TEDx talk about his interactive film Lifesaver.

Azhagi (software)

Azhagi is a freeware transliteration tool, which enables its users to type in a number of regional Indian languages, including Tamil, Hindi, and others, using an English keyboard. In 2002, The Hindu dubbed Azhagi as a tool that "stand[s] out" among various similar software "emerg[ing] nearly every other day". Since year 2000, Azhagi has provided support for Tamil transliteration; this was later expanded to nearly 13 Indian languages, featuring 16 total built-in languages as of the day of writing.

<i>Aksharit</i> 2009 word game for Indian languages

Aksharit is the first word game for Indian languages, developed and marketed by MadRat Games Pvt. Ltd. It is based on the Hindi language. and loosely inspired by crossword puzzles, but is purportedly designed to have specific pedagogical utility for Hindi language learning. Aksharit is used in 3,000 schools throughout India and has been used by over 300,000 children. It is also available in 10 other major Indian languages, as well as in digital form on Nokia's Symbian3 platform and on Intel AppUp. It has been a recipient of the Manthan Award and has been recognized at conferences such as TechSparks and INKtalks.

A. G. Ramakrishnan Indian electrical engineering professor (born 1958)

Angarai Ganesan Ramakrishnan is a senior professor of electrical engineering at Indian Institute of Science, Bangalore, India, currently, he heads the Medical intelligence and language engineering lab. He received the Manthan Award 2014 for his project, Gift of New Abilities under the category e-inclusion and accessibility. He also won the Manthan Award 2015 for his project, “Madhura - the gift of voice”, under the category, e-education, learning, and employment. He is also one of the founder directors of RaGaVeRa Indic Technologies private limited recognized by the Karnataka Government as one of the Elevate 2019 Startup winners. From January 2017 to June 2020, he was a Member of the Karnataka Knowledge Commission. He is a Fellow of the Indian National Academy of Engineering (INAE) since November 2019. Since August 2022, he is also the Advisor - Neuroscience to Feedfront Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a startup based in Bangalore.

Arsh Shah Dilbagi is an Indian scientist, Inventor and Roboticist. He completed his undergraduate at Princeton University studying Operations Research and Financial Engineering. He is the founder of Arido about which very little has been made public.
