Lefkada, also known as Lefkas or Leukas and Leucadia, is a Greek island in the Ionian Sea on the west coast of Greece, connected to the mainland by a long causeway and floating bridge. The principal town of the island and seat of the municipality is Lefkada. It is situated on the northern part of the island, approximately 25 minutes by automobile away from Aktion National Airport. The island is part of the regional unit of Lefkada.

Fiskardo has a small and diminishing fishing fleet. The coast around Fiskardo is mainly rocky with numerous pebble-beached coves. The port serves ferry routes to the ports of Frikes (Ithaca) and Lefkada. It is 5 km north of Vasilikades, 24 km north of Sami and 32 km north of Argostoli. Cephalonia International Airport is 61 km to the south, by road. The community of Fiskardo consists of the villages Fiskardo, Evreti, Katsarata, Matsoukata and Tselentata.
Kálamos is a mountainous island and a former community in the Ionian Islands, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Lefkada, of which it is a municipal unit. It lies east of Lefkada, near the Greek mainland. It has a wintering population of around 500 people, which is swelled substantially in the summer by tourists. The name Kalamos means reed in Greek and the presence of this plant along its coastline in the past may have given its name. Another version is that the island had several beaches with good sand hence the name given. The land area is 24.964 km2 (9.639 sq mi), and its highest point is 754 m (2,474 ft) above sea level.
Lefkada City is a city and a former municipality on the island of Lefkada, Ionian Islands, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Lefkada, of which it is a municipal unit. It is the capital and main town of the island of Lefkada, located in the northern and northeastern part of the island. The city had a population of 9,253 inhabitants at the 2021 census. The municipal unit has a land area of 60.628 square kilometres (23.409 sq mi) and a population of 13,540 (2021).
Meganisi is a Greek island and municipality immediately to the east-southeast of the island of Lefkada. The municipality includes the offshore islands of Skorpios and Sparti. The municipality has an area of 22.356 km2.

Until 1974, when it became part of the Lefkada Prefecture, the island was administered under the Cephalonia Prefecture. The nearest island is Kalamos, with a deep channel between them; the mainland is approximately 5 kilometres to the northeast in Aetolia-Acarnania.

Agios Petros is a village and a community in the municipal unit of Apollonioi in the southern part of the Lefkada Island in Greece. The community consists of the villages Agios Petros and Ponti Agiou Petrou. Agios Petros is situated on a mountain slope 4 km (2.5 mi) north of Vasiliki, 4 km (2.5 mi) west of Syvros, and 21 km (13 mi) southwest of Lefkada.
Amfilochia is a town and a municipality in the northwestern part of Aetolia-Acarnania in Greece, on the site of ancient Amfilochia. Under the Ottoman Empire, it was known as Karvasaras.
Apollonioi is a former municipality on the island of Lefkada, Ionian Islands, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Lefkada, of which it is a municipal unit. It is located in the southwestern part of the island. Its population was 2,389 at the 2021 census. The seat of the municipality was in Vasiliki. Its area is 124.709 km2, comprising about 41 percent of Lefkada Island. The area features beautiful beaches on the western side of the island, the most famous are in Porto Katsiki and in Ekremnoi. The Porto Katsiki Beach has been voted the second best beach in the world.
Karya is a former municipality on the island of Lefkada, Ionian Islands, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Lefkada, of which it is a municipal unit. It lies in the central part of Lefkada. It has a land area of 30.867 km2. A large part of the population live in the former municipal seat, the town of Karyá.
Agios Kirykos is a town and a former municipality on the island of Ikaria, North Aegean, Greece. Since the 2011 local government reform it is part of the municipality Ikaria, of which it is a municipal unit. Its population was 3,565 at the 2021 census, and its land area is 74.7 square kilometres. It is the administrative capital of Ikaria and the Ikaria regional unit.
Nydri is a town and a community on the eastern coast of the island of Lefkada, Greece. It is part of the municipal unit Ellomenos. The community includes the small village Rachi. The Greek National Road 42 passes through the town. Nydri is a popular tourist town. In the sea in front of Nydri are several small islands including Madouri, Skorpios, Skorpidi and Sparti. The island Skorpios is the property of the Ribolovlev family.
Vonitsa is a town in the northwestern part of Aetolia-Acarnania in Greece, seat of the municipality of Aktio-Vonitsa. The beach town is situated on the south coast of the Ambracian Gulf, and is dominated by a Venetian fortress on a hill. Vonitsa is 13 kilometres southeast of Preveza, 18 kilometres northeast of Lefkada (city) and 90 kilometres northwest of Agrinio. The Greek National Road 42 passes through Vonitsa.
Tilikratis Football Club, also known as AO Tilikratis Lefkada is a Greek association football club based on the island of Lefkada (Lefkas), Greece. Tilikratis is the highest placed football team from the island of Lefkada. As of 2011 they played in Group 5 of Delta Ethniki and, a few days before the end of the season 2010–11, they won the group to go on to compete in Football League 2 for the 2011–12 season.
Evgiros is a village on the island of Lefkada, in the Ionian Islands of Greece. It is part of the municipal unit of Apollonioi.
The 2015 Lefkada earthquake occurred on November 17, 2015, 10:40:07 (EEST) with a moment magnitude of 6.5 located 19 km Southwest of the Greek island of Lefkada along with a depth of 11 km and intensities reaching as high as VIII (Severe) on the Modified Mercalli Scale. Two people lost their lives in the event and 4–8 others were hospitalized with injuries.
